    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical film, such as a retardation film or an optically isotropic film, using an amorphous polyolefin advantageous in an economical aspect, namely a cyclic olefin-ethylene copolymer.
      SOLUTION: This optical film comprises an amorphous polyolefin which is (i) a copolymer comprising ethylene units and norbornene units, has (ii) a glass transition temperature in a range of 100 to 180°C, and has (iii) a meso type/racemo type existence ratio in a range of 0.2≤[meso type]/[racemo type]≤4 in respect to the stereoregularity of the diad sites of the norbornene units.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polyester fiber improved in modulus and obtained by dispersing/orientating fibrous inorganic filler in a polyester fiber.
      SOLUTION: The polyester fiber is composed of (A) 100 pts. wt. polyester and (B) 0.1-4.5 pts. wt. fibrous inorganic filler having 0.5-7 nm average fiber diameter of primary particles and 30-300 nm average fiber length thereof and 600-5 aspect ratio, and the fibrous inorganic filler has 30-300 nm average fiber length as average scatterer length obtained by the formula (1): Bobs=1/(L×s)+Bϕ (wherein L is a length of scatterer; s is a scattering vector; Bobs is a half-value width of azimuthal distribution of small angle X ray scattering strength in each scattering vector s) and unoriental factor Bϕ obtained from the formula (1) satisfies the formula (2): Bϕ
