    • PURPOSE:To improve resistance against seizure and wear of a slide bearing, by forming irregularities on the surface of a lining member made of aluminum- alloy, covering the inner surface of hollows of said irregularities with an adherent layer, and finally forming a overlaying layer over said irregular surface. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a lining member 1 made of aluminum-alloy are made to form irregularities which include hollows 2, and an adherent layer 3 is formed over said irregularities, said layer 3 being made of plating consisting of Ni, Cu or the like. In addition, over the surface of said adherent layer 3, an overlaying layer of Pb-alloy 4 is formed filling said hollows 2 with its surface becoming a plain sliding surface. Due to the above construction, improvement of a running-in characteristic, relieving of uneven face-contact, and reduction of friction can be attained by said over-laying layer 4 when a sliding bearing is started to be used, while good resistance against seizure and wear can be held even when said adherent layer 3 and said over-laying layer 4 are worn out to the prominent areas of the surface of said lining member 1.

    • PURPOSE:To enhance the fatigue resistance of the captioned bearing by forming a nickel barrier plating layer over the surface of alloy layer of a bearing and further forming, thereon, an overlay layer on which the number of recess of more than 20mum in diamer per unit area of square mm is less than 12/mm . CONSTITUTION:Minute recesses are formed over the surface of the alloy layer of a bearing made of copper-lead system sintered alloy and a nickel barrier plating layer of 2-15mum thickness is formed thereon as a coating. Furthermore, an overlay layer is formed to stretch over said nickel barrier plating layer. The number of recess of more than 20mum in diameter is limited with 12 per unit area of square mm on this overlay layer.

    • PURPOSE:To improve conformability of a belt type continuous variable transmission mechanism and also to obtain a high width accuracy as well as to obtain a high constant friction coefficient, by executing shot blast processing on the side end surface of the block of a belt type continuous variable transmission mechanism (CVT). CONSTITUTION:The space between a movable flange 1b and a fixed flange 1a is set at a value necessary for the desired speed change. The space between the opposing surfaces 1c of the flanges 1a, 1b changes as well. A block 10 is always in contact with the opposing surfaces 1c through contact inclined surfaces 10a, and this contact position changes in directon A in accordance with the change of the space D. When the block 10 is in the position necessary for the desired speed change, the rotational force necessary for speed change is transmitted to the block 10 through the contact inclined surface 10a. The side end surface of the block 10 is subjected to shot blast processing, for example, under the conditions such as air pressure of 6-8kgf/cm , nozzle diameter of 10mm., shot of 14 mesh alumina, shot period of approximately 1min. Consequently, numerous pores of depth 15-20mu are formed on the side end surfaces of the block 10.
