    • PURPOSE: To develop high hardness sintered body for tool suitable to wire drawing dies for high hardness steel wire, by mixing diamond particles and WC or (Mo, W) C particles at a prescribed ratio, and sintering said mixture with Fe group metal as binder.
      CONSTITUTION: Hard carbide of WC or (Mo, W) C, etc. and diamond particles are milled by using balls and pot lined inside with cermet bonded with Fe group metal such as Co, Ni. Pot and ball are worn in milling process, and incorporated therein in powder state, and mixture of 80W95vol% diamond particles, 0.5W5vol% powder of WC or (Mo, W) C having ≤1μm particle diameter, 4.5W15vol% Fe group metal powder is manufactured. Diamond particles are composed of ≤95% particles of 0.1W2μm and the balance that of ≤0.1μm. The mixture is hot pressed by ultrahigh temp., high pressure apparatus, to manufacture high hardness sintered body for tool suitable to wire drawing dies of high hardness steel wire.

    • PURPOSE: To obtain a composite material contg. a sintered hard body for the edge of a blade causing no cracking by joining a brazable metallic layer to a specified area of each side of a sintered hard body made of platelike sintered diamond.
      CONSTITUTION: Platelike layers 2 of a brazable metal such as Co, Ni, Fe, Cu or Al or an alloy thereof are joined to both sides of the sintered hard body 3 made of platelike sintered diamond of sintered high pressure phase type boron nitride to form a tip 1 for the edge of a blade. At this time, each of the metallic layers 2 is joined to 1/5W2/3 of the area of each side of the sintered hard body 3. The tip 1 suitable for use as the edge of a cutting or drilling tool is obtd.
