    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium, which prevents the occurrence of exfoliation between a magnetic layer and a protective layer, even if sliding is repeated, and also provide its manufacturing method.
      SOLUTION: A metal thin-film type magnetic recording medium 10 has a magnetic layer 2 and a carbon protective layer 4 on its nonmagnetic base material 1. In this case, the film thickness of a metal oxide layer 2a on the surface layer of the magnetic layer 2 is to at most 5 nm. The vacuum deposition of the magnetic layer, the etching of the metal oxide layer by an ion gun and the formation of a carbon protective film by a CVD method are carried out consecutively in an environment which isolated from external air.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to obviate the occurrence of peeling of multilayered back coating layers even after long-term preservation or under a severe use environment and to maintain the characteristics of a medium by forming the magnetic recording medium having a magnetic recording layer on one surface of a nonmagnetic base and the multilayered back coating layers on the other surface, forming the nonmagnetic base side of the multilayered back coating layers of the applied back coating layers composed mainly of nonmagnetic particles and an org. binder and forming the front surface side of thin-film back coating layers by vacuum thin-film formation. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording layer 2 and a top coating layer 3 are formed on one surface of the nonmagnetic base 1. The multilayered back coating layers 40 are formed on the rear surface of the nonmagnetic base 1. The multilayered back coating layers 40 consist of the applied back coating layer 41 on the nonmagnetic base 1 side and the thin-film back coating layer 42 formed thereon and the thin-film back coating layer 42 is formed to >=3nm in its film thickness to prevent the direct exposure of the applied back coating layer 41 on the surface. The preservation life of the medium is improved by the multilayered back coating layers.

    • PURPOSE:To provide a ribbon cartridge simply assembled and preventing the racing of each spool having an ink ribbon wound therearound. CONSTITUTION:A resin cartridge main body 2 is constituted of a lower shell 10 and an upper shell 20. A supply spool 30 having an ink ribbon 50 wound therearound and a taking-up spool 40 are supported in a freely rotatable manner so that one ends thereof are supported between the bearing parts 11a, 21a and 11b, 21b of one side parts 11, 21 of the respective shells 10, 20 and the other ends thereof are supported on a pair of the bearing parts 12a, 12b of the lower shell. The elastic members interposed between the inner wall around a pair of the bearing parts 12a, 12b of the other side part 12 of the lower shell 10 and the stepped outer end surfaces of the small diameter shaft parts 36, 46 and middle diameter shaft parts 35, 45 of the spools 30, 40 are formed from a metal leaf spring 60 having a U-shape.
