    • PURPOSE: To diffuse a large quantity of exhaust gas bubbles at the periphery of blade parts and contrive to enhance starting accelerating property, by a method wherein an ON-OFF valve which is closed under the action of a centrifugal force of not smaller than a predetermined value is provided in a through- hole.
      CONSTITUTION: At the time of a starting acceleration, a propeller 19 is rotated at a low speed, and a centrifugal force exerted on a valve body 30 is small, so that the propeller is maintained in the direction opposite to a valve seat 31 by an energizing force of a spring 32, and the through-hole 28 is maintained in a conducting state. Accordingly, a large quantity of an exhaust gas flows out to the outer peripheral part of a boss part 22 through an exhaust gas passage 26 and the through-hole 28, a large quantity of exhaust gas bubbles are diffused to the periphery of the blade parts 21, whereby the resisting force exerted from water to the propeller 19 at the time of the starting acceleration is reduced, and acceleration can be promoted. At the time of normal steaming, the through-hole 28 is maintained in a non-conducting state, whereby diffusion of exhaust gas bubbles to the periphery of the blade part 21 is eliminated, and an or iginally expected thrust can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE: To smooth change-over of positive and reverse revolution in such a way that a sleeve which performs positive and reverse revolution of an output shaft is engaged with the neutral position with freedom of engagement and disengagement by means of a detent mechanism, while the sleeve is allowed to escape from the detent mechanism by means of torsion spring force.
      CONSTITUTION: An interlocking clutch can be formed by pawls 56, 58 of a sleeve 54 which is slidably coupled in the axial direction to an output shaft 40, and by pawls 60, 62 of a positive sense turning toothed wheel 46 and a reverse sense turning toothed wheel 48 of the reversible change-over gear train 44. A plunger 64 is inserted into the shaft 40, and movement of the plunger 64 is transferred to sleeve 54 through a pin 68 which penetrates the plunger 64, a long hole of the shaft 40 and the sleeve 54. A detent mechanism which is integrated by a ball 74, and a retainer 78 pressed by a spring 76 is provided on the plunger 64, and when the sleeve 54 is at the neutral position, the ball 74 is engaged into a concave part 80 of the shaft 40. The plunger 64 is coupled to a cam follower 84 through a swivel joint. The sleeve 54 is moved by means of torsion spring force of a shifting shaft 100 through the cam follower 84 and the plunger 64.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the vibration of an outside-boat engine from being transmitted to the hull of a boat, by attaching the outside-boat engine with a connecting member having a buffer function, to a fitting bracket mounted on the hull. CONSTITUTION:An outside-boat engine 10 is mounted with a shaft 22a on a fitting bracket 22 vertically tiltably mounted on a stern board 21, so that the engine 10 can be swung right and left. A pair of coupling brackets 23, 23 secured on the upper and lower ends of the shaft 22a are connected to the engine 10 by a connecting member 30A. The connecting member 30A comprises an outer cylinder 31 made of synthetic resin, an inner cylinder made of a metal and located in the outer cylinder 31 concentrically therewith and an elastic member made of rubber and interposed between the outer cylinder 31 and the inner cylinder 32. The connecting member 30A absorbs the vibration of the outside-boat engine 10 enough to surely prevent the vibration from being trasnmitted to the fitting bracket 22.
