    • PURPOSE:To minimize the reproduction of crosstalk of recorded signal when reproducing a track, by using magnetic head having a pair of core half bodies engaged with each other, and specifying the form of engagement in consideration of the relative running direction of magnetic head and magnetic tape. CONSTITUTION:On a magnetic tape T running in the direction of arrow (c), signals are recorded by two magnetic heads HA, HB in a manner to compose recording tracks 4A, 4B, which are adjacent to each other, successively. At this time, it is so disposed that, of the end edges in track widthwise direction of magnetic air gaps gA, gB of HA, HB, the protruding end part 15 caused by engagement of two core half bodies 13, 14 at the end edge located at the recorded magnetic track side may be positioned in the preceding side with respect to the moving direction of magnetic heads HA, HB shown by arrows (a), (b). And, the end face 16 in a trak width defining groove 8 magnetically opposing to the protruding end part 15 is positioned to run following up the protruding end part 15 about the running directions 9, 6 of the magnetic heads.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of AM fogging and crossstalk and improve picture quality at the time of reproduction by improving the winding method of a double azimuth head. CONSTITUTION:The 1st magnetic head 20 forming a working gap (g) with minus azimuth by abutting a pair of core half bodies 11, 12 and the 2nd magnetic head forming the working gap with plus azimuth by abutting a pair of core half bodies 13, 14 are united as one body to constitute a double azimuth magnetic head 15. A winding 16 for unbalanced winding is wound around the 1st magnetic head 20 so as to wind the 2nd magnetic head in it. The ratio of winding frequency between winding parts 16a and 16b is selected so as to minimize the quantity of AM fogging. In the 2nd magnetic head 21, a winding 17 is wound around a head core half body 14 in the direction intersecting with the recording medium scanning direction and, on the way of the winding 17, a part 17a of the winding 17 is passed through a winding hole 18 of the 1st magnetic head 20 to be reversely wound.
