    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manage information related to information exchanged between an application and a printing part, without changing the application already incorporated in an application layer.SOLUTION: In a printing device in which a POS application 50 is incorporated in the application layer 36, a filter driver 44 is incorporated into an operating system layer 34, and a data output application 52 is incorporated into the application layer 36. The filter driver 44 and the data output application 52 can be thereby incorporated into a controller 30 without changing the POS application 50. When an error occurs in a printing part 22, the controller 30 acquires error data by the filter driver 44 and outputs it to a computer 70 by the data output application 52. The error data can thereby be managed in the computer 70.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a label separating mechanism mounted to a label printer or the like and capable of positively separating a label from the surface of a mounting paper by bending the mounting paper with a small radius of curvature.
SOLUTION: In this label separating mechanism 20 for the label printer 1, an upstream mounting paper presser guide 23 and a downstream mounting paper presser guide 24 for pressing the mounting paper 8 so as not to be separated from a mounting paper bending guide 21 are arranged on both sides of the guide 21 provided with a bending face 21a for bending the mounting paper 8 at an acute angle, and guide faces 23a, 24a of the guides 23, 24 are formed in a state of overlapping the bending face 21a. Even if the radius of curvature of the bending face 21a is made small, the mounting paper 8 can be positively bent with the small radius of curvature along the bending face 21a without floating from the bending face 21a. The label 7 can thereby be positively separated from the mounting paper 8 even when the adhesive strength of the label 7 is high and the stiffness of the label 7 is low.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink filling method of filling an ink cartridge with ink without forming an air staying in an ink chamber of which the movable lid falls accompanying the consumption of ink.
SOLUTION: The ink cartridge 10A in an uncompleted state is put in the hermetically sealed container 51 of an ink filling device 50 and, in such a state that the hermetically sealed container is held to a vacuum state and the movable lid 33 is pushed down to a falling position, a predetermined amount of the ink is injected in ink takeout ports 15(1)-15(4). The injected ink enters the gap 37 between the outer peripheral surface of the movable lid 33 and the inner peripheral surface of an ink chamber to form an ink meniscus. The air sump is formed in the recessed part 33C on the back side of the movable lid 33. When the hermetically sealed container 51 is opened to the atmosphere thereafter, the air in the air sump is returned to an atmospheric pressure state and contracted to become small air bubbles 80. Therefore, the recessed part 33c becomes a state substantially filled with the ink. By filling the ink cartridge with the ink thereafter, ink chambers 13(1)-13(4) can be filled with the ink without forming the air staying in the recessed part 33c.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which has a plurality of independent ink chambers filled with respective color inks and covered with movable covers falling according to consumptions of the respective color inks, wherein the inks of the different colors in the cartridge is prevented from color mixture of the inks and contamination with foreign matter into the inks.
SOLUTION: In each of the ink chambers 13(1) to 13(4) in the ink cartridge 10, a hermetically sealed ink storage section 35 is formed by virtue of an ink meniscus formed in a gap 37 between the vertically movable cover 33 and an ink chamber inner surface 31a, and the ink is supplied from the ink storage section 35 via an ink takeout section 15 to the outside. Even if the ink flows out of the gap 37 to a rear side of the movable cover 33 due to application of an impact, the rear side is partitioned by partition plates 20 into independent spaces 38 for the respective ink chambers, and therefore the color mixture of the inks does not occur. Further the flowing ink does not make contact with an ink absorber 17 in a waste ink chamber 14, and therefore contamination with foreign matter into the inks does not occur. Therefore even if the ink returning again to the ink storage section 35 via the gap 37 is used, no problem occurs.
