    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for setting criteria depending on a slope angle for the selection of an escalator or an auto slope by comparing the safety of both of them based on the body sensory evaluation of a user in a slope range where both the escalator and the auto slope can be installed.SOLUTION: In the slope range where both the escalator and the auto slope can be installed, the slope angle of an intersection point of the value of the following formula 1 showing the ratio of preference for the escalator and the value of the following formula 2 showing the ratio of preference for the auto slope from the view point of safety is set to be the criterion value for the selection of the escalator or the auto slope. The formula 1 is: y=a+b[(e-1)/k]. The formula 2 is: y=100-{a+b[(e-1)/k]}. In the formulas, a, b, and k represent coefficients, and e represents the bottom of a natural logarithm.
