    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a picture processor in which a texture level can be accurately detected and removed. SOLUTION: This device is provided with an edge judger 40 for judging the edge of inputted multi-value picture data, and deciding the weighting factor of error diffusion from the judged result, texture extractor 10 for detecting the texture components of the multi-value picture data by referring to the edge detected by the edge judger, subtractor 20 for subtracting the texture components from the multi-value picture data, output converter 30 for outputting the picture data by decreasing the concentration gradation of the inputted multi- level data, and detecting error components which can not be converted, and error arithmetic unit 50 for multiplying the detected error components by the weighting factor decided by the edge judger. Then, the error components multiplied by the weighting factor by the error arithmetic unit 50 are added to a difference value from the subtractor 20, and returned to the output converter 30 again. Thus, it is possible to accurately remove the texture components at the edge part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the image processor which can handle the worst pattern even when a storage device is made small. SOLUTION: Inputted image information after being binarized is converted into run data, which are stored in line memories 31, 32, and 33. The positions of runs on the latest current line and the line before the last line are compared and data on the runs are converted into data on an area. For the data conversion to the area, there are processes for registration as a new area, the update of an existent area, the merging of existent areas, and detection as an area. When data is detected as an area, position and size information is reported to subsequent processes on condition that its size is suitable to a target pattern. As the area data, there are data halfway in area detection which is possible updated and data which is already detected as an area. The memory is consumed by the size of the area data each time the area data is registered in the memory.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the real-time performance when the coupled images are decided by extracting the runs in the scanning direction of the pixel to be processed and deciding an image area to be processed based on the coupling state between the upper and lower runs. SOLUTION: When a binary data is applied, a black/white pixel extraction part 1 extracts an object black or white pixel for extraction of an area. A run extraction part 2 extracts the runs in the main scanning direction of the extracted black or white pixel, and an area decision part 3 decides an image area to be processed based on the coupling state between extracted upper and lower runs. For instance, an original is read by an image reading part (scanner) of a copying machine and converted into the image data. This image data is binarized by a proper threshold, divided into black and white pixels and then converted into an image having several coupled areas. Then the binary image data is applied to an area extraction part for extraction of an image area to be processed and then applied to an area post-processing part.

    • PURPOSE:To relax dimension entering conditions compared with usual ones and to allow various dimension entering methods which are the same as those in a general mechanical drawing by detecting a dimension line group connected from a character string in a direction to an endpoint and examining the arranged pattern of an endpoint symbol. CONSTITUTION:For the input picture data of the mechanical drawing, first, a segment, the endpoint of the segment, the endpoint symbol of a dimension line, and the character string in the drawing are extracted and stored in a segment data table 6 and a character string data table 7 on a main memory 2. Next, an extension line is extracted from the data in the table 6, the dimension line group connected in the direction to the endpoint using the character string and a character string group near the dimension line group are detected out of segments except the extension line and recorded in a group table 8 on the memory 2. Further, a character range corresponding to the character strings in the detected group and a dimension range normal corresponding to an actual dimension value are identified, and the result is registered in the table 8. Thus, the dimension entering method can be allowed according to dimension recognition in the general mechanical drawing without strictly limiting the dimension entering methods as in a usual case.
