    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve transmission performance when the temperature of lubricating oil is low.
      SOLUTION: This transmission for a vehicle is provided with: a backward gear 12 fitted to a main shaft 10 as a rotating shaft so as to enable idling; a clutch gear 14 arranged relatively rotatably at only a predetermined angle with respect to the backward gear 12; a coupling sleeve 20 which has a spline engaged with the clutch gear 14 and formed at the inner periphery and is slidably fitted to the main shaft 10; and an elastic member 16 such as a compression coil spring for elastically energizing the relative rotation of the backward gear 12 and the clutch gear 14 toward the neutral position. When the coupling sleeve 20 is displaced to the clutch gear 14 direction to perform a gear shift from the stop state to a transmission gear, even if the backward gear 12 cannot be rotated, the coupling sleeve 20 rotates the clutch gear 14 withstanding the energizing force of the elastic member 16. By this engagement, transmission is completed.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make "gear squealing" hard to be generated in gear shifting.
      SOLUTION: A synchronizing device includes a synchronizer hub 12 integrated with a rotary shaft, a synchronizer sleeve slidably fitted to its outer periphery and a synchronizer ring pressed against a friction surface formed on a synchronized rotary member along with its axial displacement, wherein the synchronizer hub 12 includes a synchronizing hub 12A fixed to the outer periphery of the rotary shaft, a synchronized hub 12C installed for relative rotation to it by a predetermined angle and fitted with the synchronizer sleeve and an elastic member 12C biasing their relative rotation to a neutral position. Rotation fluctuation when the torsion of a driving force transmission system is returned by the completion of synchronization is absorbed by the elastic member 12C while the synchronizing hub 12A and the synchronized hub 12B are relatively rotated so that "gear squealing" is hardly caused.
