    • PURPOSE:To shorten a length in a longitudinal direction of a paper feeder by applying a structure wherein a paper feed cassette can be inserted/removed without providing a handle in a front surface part. CONSTITUTION:In an equipment main unit 11, an engaging part 28 is provided in the side surface of a cassette inserting part 21, and a spring unit 29 for pressing forward a paper feed cassette 51 is provided in the rear part of the cassette inserting part 21. In the paper feed cassette 51, a latch 62 engaged with the engaging part 28 is provided. In a front face of the paper feed cassette 51, a push button 72 for actuating the latch 62 released is provided. Thus in a condition of inserting the paper feed cassette 51, almost a total unit thereof can be received into the cassette inserting part 21, to enable a length to shorten in the longitudinal direction of a paper feeder.

    • PURPOSE:To raise the regulating accuracy of interval between a printing head and a platen by a method in which a metal face is formed on the level of a hard rubber face on one end of the platen, and a thickness guage is inserted into the space between the metal face and the head to regulate the interval. CONSTITUTION:A printing head 4 is moved to a position facing one metal face 2 of a platen 1, and the blade 7a of a thickness guage 7 is inserted into the space between the tip of a dot pin housing 5 and the metal face 2 to measure the interval 8. The head 4 or the platen 1 is regulatively moved to make the interval 8 coincide with the thickness (d) of the blade 7a. The head 4 is then moved to the position facing the other metal face 3 of the platen 1, and the blade 7a of the guage 7 is inserted into the space between the tip of the dot pin housing 5 and the metal face 3 to measure the interval 8. The head 4 or the platen 1 is regulatively moved to equalize the interval 8 with the thickness (d) of the blade 7a. The moving distance of the dot pin can thus be set up in this way. The regulating accuracy of the interval between the head 4 and the platen 1 can thus be raised without any dispersion.
