    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To measure the temperature in a furnace with higher accuracy and better responsiveness than hitherto by preventing flow-in of back draft, in a large-scale furnace comprising a shell and a refractory body such as an air-heating furnace.
      SOLUTION: This temperature measuring device is equipped with a temperature measuring body 6a for measuring the temperature of the refractory body 4 by bringing a temperature measuring body tip part 60 close to a spot whose temperature is to be measured on the refractory body 4, a pad part 6b for conducting the heat on the spot whose temperature is to be measured to the temperature measuring body tip part 60 adherently to the spot whose temperature is to be measured, a pressure contact part 17 for pressure-contacting the pad part 60 onto the spot whose temperature is to be measured by pressing the temperature measuring body 6a and the pad part 6b onto the spot whose temperature is to be measured from the outside of a furnace body, and a furnace wall fixing part 14 for fixing the temperature measuring body 6a and the pressure contact part 17 to a furnace body outer cover 1. The temperature measuring body tip part 60 can be deformed in a direction orthogonal to the axial direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable gas detector device which quickly and surely notifies abnormality of concentration and allows workers to appropriately handle dangerous situations even under disturbances, such as noise or vibration.
      SOLUTION: The portable gas detector device has a gas sensor which detects dangerous gas or the concentration of oxygen in atmosphere to output a gas concentration detection signal A, a warning generator which warns workers, a signal processor which signal processes the gas concentration detection signal A to output a gas measurement concentration signal B and controls the warning generator, and a gas concentration determination part which determines whether or not a specified gas leakage occurs based on the gas measurement concentration signal B to generate a specified leakage state signal. The warning generator consists of an earphone, and the signal processor allows the warning generator to output voice messages based on the specified leakage state signal.

      SOLUTION: In the continuous casting for molten metal, this molten metal surface level detecting instrument comprises: two molten metal surface level meters arranged so as to measure symmetrical positions in the width direction of the mold centered on an immersion nozzle arranged in the center part of the mold; and an additional average calculator for additional-average calculating and outputting the molten metal surface level detected signals of two molten metal surface level meters, wherein this output of additional average calculator is set as the molten metal surface level in the mold.
