    • PURPOSE:To measure the instantaneous flow rate value of the gas in a blast furnace with good accuracy by measuring the gas temp. in the many positions spaced from each other at a slight section in the height direction of the lump zone in the furnace, calculating the temp. difference of the solid raw material therefrom to determine a heat flow ratio and measuring the flow rate of the gas from the heat flow ratio and raw material descending speed. CONSTITUTION:Gas temp. detecting points 1-4 consisting of 4 points of thermocouple spaced from each other at the slight spacing L of about 10cm are provided in the solid raw material layer in the blast furnace 30. The descending speed of the solid raw material 31 in the gas temp. detecting part is measured and the moving time of the raw material 31 is calculated from the distance L in the above-mentioned slight section. The temp. measurement data measured at the above-mentioned 4 points of the temp. detecting points is blocked at every interval of the calculated moving time and the temp. measurement data is averaged at every blocking section. The raw material temp. difference in the slight section is calculated from the value thereof and the heat flow ratio is calculated from the raw material temp. and temp. difference of the gas in said section. The flow rate of the gas in the blast furnace is then quickly calculated from the heat flow ratio obtd. in such a manner, the raw material descending speed and the specific heats of the gas and the raw material.
