    • PURPOSE: To effectively reduce and absorb the rake and oscillation of the hull by mounting a floating body on the tip of an arm that is protruded in the perpendicular direction from a boardside.
CONSTITUTION: Horizontal arms 2 and 2' are protruded in the perpendicular direction from both boardsides of the hull 1 and floating bodies 4 and 4' are mounted through vertical arms 3 and 3'. The amount of hull rake can be reduced by allowing the floating bodies to be actuated in the direction where the rake is decreased for the hull rake resulting from the movement of heavy cargo on the hull and the oscillation caused by the rolling movement of the hull can effectively be absorbed. Stability torque can easily be adjusted freely by varying each of the arms 2 and 2' or 3 and 3'.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce resistance of wind applicable to a sail surface at furling by forming a fixed sail portion with a plurality of opening and closing air holes and attaching moving sail portions on both sides of the fixed sail portion in such a manner that respective side surfaces thereof may not come in contact with each other at furling. CONSTITUTION:A hard sail 1 is composed of a fixed sail portion 5 secured by mounting frames 17 axially to sail post 4 rotatably received in a fixed sail post 3 erected at right angles to a deck 2 and moving sail portions 6, 7 attached to the sail post 4 by the mounting frames 17 on both sides of the fixed sail portion 5 and adapted to be spread and furled. The fixed sail portion 5 is formed over the full height thereof with a plurality of rectangular air holes 8, so that, at furling of the hard sail 1, they permit air flow, and at spreading of the hard sail 1, they prevent air flow. Stoppers 14 are provided to press respective inner side surfaces 6b, 7b of the moving sail portions 6, 7, so that the side surfaces 6a, 6b of the moving sail portions 6, 7 may not come in contact with each other.
