    • PURPOSE: To reduce the wt. of a headrest for a vehicle without lowering the strength of legs, by fabricating the leg used in the headrest for a vehicle by using a pipe comprising steel with a specific composition as a stock material.
      CONSTITUTION: A headrest 1 for a vehicle is formed by embedding a shape holding reinforcing core body 3 made of thermoplastic resin in a soft foamed body 2 such as polyurethane foam. The soft foamed body 2 is entirely covered with a surface skin 4 comprising vinyl chloride resin or ABC resin and one ends of a pair of legs 5, 5 are secured to the core body 3 while the other ends thereof are protruded to the outside from the lower surface of the headrest main body 1 to be fixed to the seat of the vehicle. In this case, in order to reduce the wt. of each leg 5 and to enhance flexural rigidity thereof, it is constituted of a pipe comprising steel containing 0.08W0.18% C, 0.25W0.50% Si, 0.60W1.50% Mn, 0.010W0.040% P, 0.002W0.040% S and 0.01W0.100% of Al.
