    • PURPOSE:To reduce cost with manufacture simplified by lessening a thermal loss in element heating processing while miniaturizing a humidity sensing element, by providing electrodes for detecting electric resistance serving as a heater on a humidity sensing resistor. CONSTITUTION:On both sides of plate-shaped humidity sensing ceramics 6, paste consisting principally of RuO2, etc., is screen-printed and baked by heating to stick surface electrodes 7 and 8; and electrode 8 is fitted with the 1st lead wires 9 and 10, and electrode 7 with the 2nd lead wires 11 and 12 to form a humidity sensing element. In the above-mentioned constitution, either of the 1st wires 9 and 10 and either of the 2nd lead wires 11 and 12 are used to measure electric resistance between both electrodes 7 and 8 and humidity in an atmosphere is found on the basis of the measured value by using an electric-resistance/humidity curve. When the humidity sensing element deteriorates, a voltage is applied between the 1st and the 2nd lead wires to flow electric current between electrodes 7 and 8 and element 6 is heated by both electrodes 7 and 8 as heating elements to restore humidity sensing characteristics. On the surface of thick-plate humidity sensing ceramics 13, linear electrodes 14 and 15 may be provided in a spiral or comb shape.

    • PURPOSE:To increase the conversion efficiency through an effective use of the absorbed light by providing the luminous material which absorbs the sunlight of short wavelength to convert it into a long wavelength and then transmits the sunlight in front of the incident surface of the sunlight of the solar battery. CONSTITUTION:Panel-type poly-crystal or glass-type luminous material 5 is attached in front of the sunlight incident surface of silicon solar battery 2 to absorb the sunlight of short wavelength, to convert the light into a long wavelength light and to transmit the long wavelength. Material 5 absorbs the light of wavelength of under 0.48mum and can convert the light into the light of the wavelength of about 0.55mm. Thus, the light of more than 50% of the total emitted light volume can reach solar battery 2 to be converted into electricity. Accordingly, the using efficiency of the solar battery other than the silicon-made one can be increased, and furthermore the conversion efficiency can be increased for more number of the solar battery used.

    • PURPOSE:To improve the temperature metering accuracy by converting the temperature variation into an optical variation with the use of a thermometer, in which reflective and transparent layers having different temperature characteristics of refractive index are combined. CONSTITUTION:There are juxtaposed in a temperature detecting portion D an optically transparent layer I, which made of a solid substance having a low temperature characteristics of a refractive index n1 such as a crystal LiTaO3, and an optically reflective layer II which is made of a substance having a high temperature characteristics of refractive index n2 such as a crystal of epitaxially grown LiNbO3. Since the refractive indexes of the layers I and II are different, the detecting portion D has its ratio in refractive indexes n1/n2 varied in accordance with the temperature. In accordance with that variation, the intensity of the transmitted light coming from an optical fiber 1 and emanating from an optical fiber 1' through the detecting portion D having its transmissvity varied is caried so that the temperature measurement of high accuracy free from noises can be accomplished through the detecting portion requiring no electric signal.

    • PURPOSE:To improve safety in cooking, by enabling continuously standardized cooking in an identical quantity of an identical material to be cooked by controlling a heating condition according to a detected temperature upon detection of absolute temperature of the inside of a heating chamber. CONSTITUTION:When a magnetron 4 is operated a material to be cooked 3 in a heating chamber 1 is heated by an electromagnetic wave and steam is generated from the material to be cooked 3. A relative temperature is detected according to generation of the steam by a temperature detector 7, and a temperature within the heating chamber 1 is detected by a temperature detector 8. Signals from those detectors 7 and 8 are sent to a control circuit where absolute temperature is computed by saturated steam pressure under the relative temperature and the detected temperature. Then, time until the absolute temperature changes suddenly is computed, the product of which and a cooking constant established according to a kind of the material to be cooked 3 is obtained and cooking time after a sudden change of the absolute temperature is controlled by controlling operation of the magnetron 4.
