    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inclination angle sensor for improving the measurement accuracy.
      SOLUTION: Especially in the inclination angle sensor, the side wall 6a section of a conductor case on which a spherical conductor 7 abuts is considered as an inclined plane expanding from the top surface 6b side of a conductor cover 6 toward a substrate 4 side. This constitution can improve measurement accuracy of the inclination angle sensor, and the sensor is useful in an application requiring high measurement accuracy, especially detection of roll-over of a vehicle.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a small variable resistor capable of sufficiently assuring an elastic chracteristic of a sliding piece of a driver plate having a small outside dimension.
      SOLUTION: The variable resistor of this invention comprises a driver insertion groove 29 having a key hole shape with a circular part 31 and a square-shape part 30 positioning at the periphery side of the through-hole 28 of the driver plate 26 continuously provided. This can prolong the length of an arm of the sliding piece and decrease the outside dimension of the driver plate.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a lid from coming off a case by heat, by a method wherein the lid is formed of stainless steel, the underside of the lid is roughened, and the roughened underside of the lid is bonded to the case with epoxy resin. SOLUTION: A stainless steel which forms the lid 25 of a variable resistor is previously dipped into an etching solution so as to make all its surface chemically polished, whereby irregularities 31 are provided to all the surface of the lid 25. In this state, the lid 25 is mounted on the large opening 22 with epoxy resin 32 coming into contact with the peripheral wall of the opening 22. In this case, the irregularities 31 are formed on all the surface of the lid 25, so that the lid 25 is enhanced in adhesion to the epoxy resin 32, and the lid 25 is prevented from coming off the case 21 by heat released when a soldering operation or the like is carried out. Moreover, the above also shows that all the surface of the lid 25 formed of stainless steel plate is roughened by etching, but only the part of the lid 25 confronting the peripheral wall of the large opening 22 of the case 21 may be roughened by etching.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance workability at the time of trimming by setting the diameter of a driver groove equal to or smaller than the inner circumferential diameter at the upper end of a protruding part and employing a structure having a substantially conical trimming section. SOLUTION: A rectangular prism board 21, composed of an insulating material, e.g. ceramic, has a hollow hole 22 substantially in the center thereof. A metal driver plate 23 has a protruding part 25, having a through hole 24 projecting toward the board 21 and a horseshoe-shaped resistor 26, is mounted on the upper surface of the board 21 along with a slider 27. The variable resistor further comprises a substantially conical trimming section 29, having a diameter equal to or shorter than the inner circumferential diameter at the upper end of the protruding part 25 and provided with a driver groove 28. A metal intermediate terminal 30 comprises a pivot shaft 31, to be inserted into the hollow hole 22 of the board 21 and from the lower surface thereof, and pivoted to the protruding part 25 of the driver plate 23, and a terminal 32 projecting outward from one end face of the board 21. A terminal 33 is connected electrically with the resistor 26 on the board 21, while extending from the side face of the board 21 along the lower surface thereof.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the height of a variable resistor by forming a step difference part to caulk a driver plate to an inner terminal. SOLUTION: A regular parallelepiped base 21 has a step difference part 22 recessed down from the upper face at the center and ceramic or other insulation material having a circular hole 23 in this step. A horseshoe-like resistor element 24 is provided on the upper face of the base 21 and terminals are provided at the side face of the base 21 so as to electrically connect it to the element 24. A driver plate 27 has a protrusion 28 extending to the step difference part 22 and through-hole having nearly the same shape as the hole 23 of the base 21 and slider 30 one end of which is electrically connected to the element 24 and the other of which has a parallel notch 32 coupled a coupler 31, to the base 21. A metal-made inner terminal 33 is a third terminal which is disposed along the side face from the lower face of the base 21 and has a nearly circular columnar tube 34 extending to the upper face from the lower face.
