    • PURPOSE:To easily execute switching of suction air and exhaust air by froming a suction air port and an exhaust air port on a cover for covering a main body, and placing a hose connecting part which can connect selectively a hose to the suction air port and the exhaust air port on this cover so as to be movable (turnable) freely. CONSTITUTION:In a main body 1, a duct collection chamber 3 provided with a filter 2, and an exhaust air chamber 5 which contains a motor fan 4 are formed, and both the chambers 3, 5 are partitioned by an annular bulkhead 7 so as to communicate with each other by a communicating port 6. The upper opening of the main body 1 is covered with a cover 8 on which a suction air port 9 and an exhaust air port 10 are formed, and this cover 8 is locked and fixed by a buckle 11. Also, on the upper face of this cover 8, a hose 13 is connected with a hose cover 14. A hose connecting part 12 provided with a handle 15 is attached so as to be freely rotatable by a shaft 17, so that the hose 13 can be connected selectively to the suction air port 9 or the exhaust air port 10, and in the case the hose 3 is connected to the exhaust air 10, the cleaner can be used as a blower.

    • PURPOSE:To reduce the front and rear sizes (thickness) without deterioration in performance by providing an inclined open suction port on the side of the main unit of an air purifier, setting a discharge electrode and a collector electrode, arranged at a mutually opposed position, with sharply angled protrusions formed integrally, at a place corresponding to the suction port, and insulating and coating almost the entire surfaces of the electrodes. CONSTITUTION:An inclined open suction port 2 is provided on the side of the main unit 1 of an air purifier, and a discharge electrode 3 and a collector electrode 4 are installed at a mutually opposed position on the internal front of the main unit 1. This discharge electrode 3 consists of sharply angled protrusions formed integrally with an electrically conductive tie plate, and a section in which a power supply is installed is attached to the tie plate. In addition, an insulation 9 of insulative material is fused to the entire surface of the tie plate excepting the sharply angled protrusion 6 and the section in which the power supply is installed. In this way, a comparatively large open area can be obtained because the suction port 2 is inclined open to the main unit 1. Subsequently, insulation distance can be set without increasing the front and rear sizes (thickness) of the insulating by adjusting the right and left sizes of the insulation on which the collector electrode is mounted.

    • PURPOSE:To effectively perform the decomposition of a malodor by photocatalystic action, by constituting the title apparatus of an electric lamp emitting ultraviolet rays, a semiconductor catalyst layer rotating around the electric lamp and formed inside a cylinder and a blower for sending air containing an offensive smell into the catalyst layer. CONSTITUTION:When an electric lamp 1 is allowed to light while a cylinder 3 is rotated, a semiconductor catalyst layer 4 is excited. When air containing an offensive smell is sent in said catalyst layer inside the cylinder by a sirocco fan 5 through a guide 7, turblent flow is generated in the vicinity of the semiconductor catalyst layer 4 and the offensive odor is diffused through the semiconductor catalyst layer 4 to be subjected to oxidative decomposition on the surface thereof. That is, a nitrogen compound such as ammonia or amines, a sulfur compound such as hydrogen sulfide or mercaptan, aldehydes, ketones, alcohols, fatty acids and an aromatic compound being substances causing offensive smells receive oxidation to be decomposed into carbon dioxide, water, nitrogen oxide, sulfur oxide or the like. The deodorized air is emitted from a blowoff port 9.
