The water supply valve 4 is closed in a period other than a period when water is being supplied to the main body 1 of the dishwasher and in a period when the dishwasher is not used, so that a water stream or water pressure is not generated in the water supply pipe on the downstream side of the water supply valve 4 and the water leak is suppressed to the minimum even in the case of the water leak at a certain place. When a water leak detecting means is arranged in the water supply valve 4 or a water stop valve 17, the water leak at the upstream side of the water supply valve 4 is detected.
