摘要： PURPOSE: To obtain a safe expellent, capable of manifesting excellent repellent and insecticidal and acaricidal effects on pests such as insect pests or mites and having long persistence of the effects and s wide repellent spectrum by using a specific compound derivative as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION: This expellent for pests contains an acrylic ester derivative of formula I [R is H or an alkyl; (n) is 0-2; Y is O, S or an single bond; Q is an alkyl or a group of formula II, III, IV, V, etc.] as an active ingredient. The compound in which R is H or methyl; Y is a single bond or O; Q is a group of formula II to IV, especially R is H; (n) is 2; Y is O; Q is formula II in the compound of formula I is preferred. The compound of formula I is preferably contained in an amount of 0.1-90wt.% in a substrate. The compound of formula I is not only directly used alone but also capable of synergistically manifesting better effects by blending two or more kinds of other physiologically active substances (e.g. allethrin) for use. The expellent can directly be applied to human bodies or animal bodies such as livestock or applied to entrances and exits for buildings, TATAMI(a Japanese rectangular straw mat), livestock barns, plowland, etc.
