    • PURPOSE:To prevent the gain of an antenna from lowering by reducing the square- law sum over the entire opening surface by forming a lens which allows the wave surface forming an angle of 45 deg. against a surface including the phase center and rotary axis of a primary radiator away from the rotary axis to agree with a plane perpendicular to the propagative direction of radio waves. CONSTITUTION:In the bifocal lens antenna composed of one rotation symmetric bifocal lens 1 and one or several primary radiators, lens 1 is so arranged that the wave surface at the opening surface of radio waves radiated from the primary radiator at position F away from rotation axis Z of lens 1 will agree with the plane perpendicular to the propagative direction of radio waves on the surface forming an angle of 45 deg. against surface H including the phase center of the primary radiator and rotation axis Z. Then, square-law sum S2 of difference DELTAL from the plane on the opening surface is expressed as shown by equation (6) and the gain is prevented from lowering by making the value small.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain the titled device which is easy to mass-produce and has strong mechanical and thermal strength, by forming entirely a circularly polarized wave generator with metals so as to attain easy adjustment. CONSTITUTION:One end of a straight circular waveguide 2 is taken as a short- circuit plane 9 and other end is taken as an opening plane for feeding to an electromagnetic horn 1. Further, a rectangular or a square metallic plate 8 is provided at the inside of the straight circular waveguide 2 and at a space between a coupling hole 5 of a feeding waveguide 4 and the short-circuit plane 9 (this space forms a circularly polarized wave generator 3). Further, a center axis of opposing sides of the metallic plate 8 and that of the straight waveguide 2 are made coincident and the plane of the metallic plate 8 and the plane including the center axis between the coupling hole 5 and the straight waveguide 2 are formed to have a prescribed angle alpha. An excellent circularly polarized wave is generated by adjusting the angle alpha. The strong mechanical and thermal strength is attained in this way and mass-production is attained easily.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a right angle between the beam central direction of the radiation pattern and the central axis of the horn, by securing 90 deg. or more between the direction from the vertex to the focus of the specular surface and the central axis of the horn. CONSTITUTION:The 90 deg. or more are set for the angle formed between axis (z) in the direction from the vertex to focus F of specular surface 2 and the central axis direction C1 of horn 1. And in case the horn is used with the feed by only a polarized wave, the shift is calculated between axis (z) and the beam's center direction of the antenna's radiation pattern of the polarized wave. Then an angle of 90 deg. or more is set with the value calculated above between axis (z) and central axis C1. In such way, the central direction of the beam can cross vertically the central axis of the horn. As a result, the antenna mobile part can be simplified for scanning of the beam, and also the same region can be observed with each antenna in case plural units of antennas are used.
