    • PURPOSE:To provide a thermal transfer printer which enlarges a printing effective range of paper without causing positional shift of paper and color shear in printing which are caused by carrying in reciprocative conveyance of the paper for superimposed printing, and can be miniaturized. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal transfer printer wherein a thermal head 12 which transfers an image to paper 11 according to an image signal is provided, the paper 11 is conducted plural times to a printing position of the thermal head 12 by reciprocating the paper 11 to carry out printing operation repetitively, and an image is formed, a platen roller 13 which reciprocates the paper 11 is provided. Then, a paper feed side pinch roller 14 and a paper discharge side pinch roller 15 which reciprocate the paper 11 along the platen roller 13 while pushing down the platen roller 13 are provided. The paper feed side pinch roller 14 is moved on an outer peripheral surface of the platen roller 13 with a paper feed side segment gear 17 rotated by a drive gear 16 to pinch the paper 11 which has been carried to a position of the paper discharge side pinch roller 15.

    • PURPOSE:To stabilize the recording of half tone images by a method wherein irradiation rays from a laser diode array wherein a slit-like light emitting area has a long axis in a sub-scanning direction are generated by driving the laser diode arrays for a period corresponding to the density at each area corresponding to each picture element. CONSTITUTION:An LDA is made up of (n) pieces of laser diodes 41, 42,...4n wherein light emitting areas 31, 32,...3n are arranged on a GaAs substrate 1. An auxiliary scanning picture element pitch XB is equal to the length of a long axis of the LDA, and a main scanning picture element pitch XA is three times the width of a short axis or more and irradiation rays scan in an X direction. If the time it takes to scan the pitch XA of one unit picture element is taken to be (p) and, for example, all the (n) pieces of laser diodes constituting the LDA are simultaneously energized for a period of tp=p/16 while scanning is being conducted in the main scanning direction and if the LDA is not energized for the remaining period p-(p/16), in the former case, bright part is generated and dark part is generated in the latter case, and hence a half tone picture element which is 1/16 of a unit picture element is obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To easily attach and detach a photosensitive drum by movably providing a holding member which integrally holes a light source part and a lens array in the shaft center direction of the photosensitive drum, holding it at a prescribed recording position and simultaneously driving it so that it is kept away from the photosensitive drum. CONSTITUTION:The light source part 2 is provided on the lower surface of the holding member 11 which integrally holds the light source part 2 and the lens array 3 and simultaneously leg parts 11a and 11b are provided. The holding member 11 is provided so that it can be moved in the shaft center direction of the photosensitive drum 1. When the photosensitive drum 1 is exchanged, attractive force works between the iron core of an electromagnet 17 and a permanent magnet 18 and the holding member 11 is driven in the direction that it is rapidly kept away from the photosensitive drum 1 along a guide groove 12a by the attractive force and the energizing force of a spring 16. Thus, a space is formed between the holding member 11 and the photosensitive drum 1 and the photosensitive drum 1 can be easily taken out from the space. Simultaneously, a new photosensitive drum can be easily installed through the space.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent recording shift and color shift due to the rotational displacement, etc. of recording paper generated during a time when the picture images of each color are recorded, and to improve picture quality by providing a control means controlling the position of a heating element electrified on the basis of positional information at every plural line recording. CONSTITUTION:Recording paper 11 and an ink film 10 are pressure-welded to a thermal head 1 by a platen roller 5 at initial positions. A position in the main scanning direction of recording paper 11, the position of the left side end of recording paper 11, is detected by a position transducer 12A, and the detecting signal D of the transducer 12A is output to a controller 13A. The position of the left side end of a heating element electrified on the basis of the detecting signal D is determined by the controller 13A. A section corresponding to one line of a picture image is recorded by the thermal head 1. The final line of the picture image is decided by the controller 13A. The last color of the picture image is judged by the controller 13A on the final line of the picture image. Pressure welding to the thermal head 1 of the ink film 10 and the recording paper 11 is released in order to overlap another color and conduct recording on the last color of the picture image.
