That is, the contributing point is added onto points M2, M4, M6, M8 and M10 on the outline of the silhouette image photographed and obtained from the respective viewpoints, and the contributing point is not added to other points. When the silhouette image is newly photographed, an image whereby the contributing point of the three-dimensional shape model MB is visualized is displayed together with a preview image of the subject. A user recognizes the image information, and thereby a new silhouette image can be achieved from a viewpoint Pm different from the silhouette image achieves previously. Meanwhile, a picture image derived from a sensor 24 for color picture images is given two-dimensional color picture image production processing 26 via analog processing 25. A two-dimensional color picture image thus obtained, being given NTSC conversion processing 28, is outputted for utilization to an output terminal 51, or else transmitted as digital data to the SCSI terminal 49 and to the recording device 22.

    • PURPOSE:To combine images at a relatively low cost by calculating a relative positional relationship of images from a plurality of image data, obtaining a parameter for coordinate transformation based on the relationship, and transforming coordinates before combine the images. CONSTITUTION:A two-dimensional color image, three-dimensional data, a focal length and a distance to a reference surface are taken from photographed data. A connecting point is searched from the two-dimensional color image. Supposing that the connecting point is searched within one pixel from the color image, the three-dimensional data is then used to search for the connecting point by a smaller degree than one pixel. A rotary angle of a camera (panning angle, tilt angle) is calculated from the connecting point of the two-dimensional image, focal length and distance to the reference surface. A parameter for coordinate transformation in a three-dimensional space is calculated from the rotary angle. It is searched where an evaluation value which is a square sum of an angle defined by normal lines of two planes passing the connecting point is minimum. If the evaluation value is not larger than a given value, the last parameter is used to convert and combine two three-dimensional images in the same coordinate system, thus completing the operation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce of erroneous correspondence in a search of a corresponding point between two images.
      SOLUTION: Link edges of a left image 210 and a right image 220 photographed on a same object are extracted from a link edge extracting part 141, and are made as left edge data 221 and right edge data 221. Scanning lines in upper and lower end positions of the respective link edges are set as a boundary scanning line by a link edge grouping part 142, and both of the images are divided into a plurality of areas with the boundary scanning line as a boundary. Then, a corresponding point search by dynamic programming of two stages is conducted in the respective divided areas by a corresponding point searching part 143. Thereby, correspondence of all of the link edges can be used as a restricting condition, and the occurrence of the erroneous correspondence is reduced.
