    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice cooker capable of appropriately controlling heating power in response to the weight of an object to be cooked, utilizing an electromagnetic induction heating, stably exhibiting an excellent cooking performance and having with a long product service life.
      SOLUTION: The rice cooker is provided with: a main body with an open top; a pot to be housed freely attachably/detachably to/from the housing part of the main body; a cover for covering the housing part so as to be freely opened/closed; an induction-heating means for induction-heating the pot; a weight detecting element which is directly or indirectly attached to the storage part; a detection body which is directly or indirectly attached to the weight detecting element and abuts on the substantially center part of an outer side bottom in the pot; a weight detecting means for detecting the total weight of the pot and the object to be cooked housed in the pot through the use of the weight detecting element via the detection body; and a control part for calculating the weight of the object to be cooked, based on the output signal of the weight detecting means and controlling energizing to the induction-heating means in response to the weight of the object to be cooked. The detection body internally is provided with a temperature excessive increase prevention device.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To keep the temperature of boiled rice in a pan in a heat retaining period, and prevent the drying of the boiled rice by forming a steam cylinder on the upper part of an exhaust port provided on a radiating plate, and covering the upper surface of the steam cylinder with a box-like moisture retaining cap. SOLUTION: The steam generated from a pan in rice cooking is raised from an exhaust port 4 to a steam cylinder 5 to push up a circulating valve 11 and block a circulating hole 10, penetrated into a moisture retaining cap 7 through an air port 9, and released to the outside through a steam port 8. A glutinous liquid is also penetrated into the moisture retaining cap 7, but it is liquefied from bubbled state since the inner part has a low temperature, and stored in the bottom part. On the other hand, since the circulating valve 10 of the moisture retaining cap 7 covers the exhaust port 4 of a radiating plate 3 in heat retaining, the temperature of boiled rice in the pan is hardly influenced by the outside air, and a high heat insulating effect can be provided. Further, the moisture in the pan is also hardly released to the outside by throttling the exhaust port 4, the steam port 8, the air port 9 and a passage, and the boiled rice is prevented from being dried.
