摘要： PURPOSE:To increase junction strength of terminals by mechanically connecting a terminal treated with chromium oxide to the terminal of an electron beam flow control electrode with low melting point glass filling the through holes provided on both terminals. CONSTITUTION:A terminal 36 treated with chromium oxide and the terminal 37 of an electron beam flow control electrode are arranged so that the through holes provided on both terminals are aligned with each other, the holes are filled with low melting point glass 39, and the glass is melted and coagulated to form a glass layer in the through hole portions. By this, junction strength for enduring the tensile load and the load in the peeling direction applied at the junction part of the terminal treated with the chromium oxide during the process of sealing and the terminal of the electron beam flow control electrode, can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To widen the area of a getter by providing a plurality of getters obtained by forming linear wire getters to have a ring shape. CONSTITUTION:Four ends of a wire getter 19 are fixed to metal sheets 20 by spot welding and further a slender metal sheet 20b is attached to it. A plurality of wire getters 19 which are thus formed to have a ring shape are fixed to slender sheets 22 of metal previously secured on the surface of a back electrode 8 by means of crystalline frits 21 by spot welding. The back electrode 8 constituted like this is assembled in a flat plate type picture display device, and thus it is possible to ensure the wide area of a getter on the inner surface of a glass envelope by approaching a coil which is connected to a high frequency induction device to flash in sequence from the outside of the glass envelope.

CONSTITUTION:When a component 2 is bonded to a component fitting base 1 by laser rays, the component 2 positioned at a holder 6 through a positioning pin 7 is pressed against the base 1 by the use of an L-shaped metal piece and a spring 4 and the pressure is adjusted by a screw 5. By this setup, the base 1 is brought into close contact with the component 2, so that the bonding of the component 1 to the base 1 by laser rays can be excellently carried out and improved in reliability.

摘要： PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a high quality image by welding the shorter sides of an electrode assembly made by joining an electron beam accelerating electrode to an electron beam accelerating auxiliary electrode as an unit to one surface of a frame for electron beam accelerating electrode so as to improve the joining accuracy of electrodes. CONSTITUTION:A plane electron beam accelerating auxiliary electrode 32 provided with positioning holes is placed on an electron beam accelerating electrode 30 to position properly with positioning pins, and the both electrodes 30 and 32 are welded with a laser beam 33 as an unit. Then the said unit is placed on one surface of a rigid frame 31 in the direction of thickness to position properly with positioning pins penetrated through the positioning holes provided on the said auxiliary electrode 32 and on the said rigid frame 31. And only the shorter sides of the said auxiliary electrodes 32 and the said rigid frame 31 are welded with the laser beam 33 as an unit. Thereby an image display equipment the image of which has no transversal line or color ununiformity can be obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a higher speed and a longer service life in a shorter process without increasing heating terminals, by furnishing a getter of a Ba wire getter contacted with a nonvolatile type getter in an image display device. CONSTITUTION:A Ba wire getter 11 and a nonvolatile type getter 12 are contacted and fixed by a spot welding. After baking is over, a current is applied up to about 500 deg.C to produce gas from the getters for about 2min. After sealing up them, a current is applied to heat up to 800 deg.C for 30sec., Ba is evaporated from the Ba wire getter 21a, and a Ba membrane 22 is vacuum evaporated to the container 23, while the reaction heat and the electrical heating give an absorbing ability to the nonvolatile getter. Therefore, without increasing heating terminals, the process is simplified, a cost down is realized, and a high quality image display device can be produced.

CONSTITUTION:In this image display unit, the plural number of barium wire getters 25 in a nitrided iron container are installed in each inside of a glass container (the front) 21 and the one (the rear) 22, and are connected to 426 alloy terminals 17 which are processed with chrome oxide on the sealing plane of the glass containers 21 and 22. The barium getters 25 are flashed by flowing current into the metal terminals 17 to heat them. Hence, the plural number of getters can be installed owing to their wiring shape, even in the flat-type image display unit having built-in things, that is, various kinds of electrodes 13-20. The pressure of nitrogen-gas generating from the nitrided iron container enables barium to scatter in all directions, then enlarging barium flash area can be realized.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve the bond strength as well as to facilitate the soldering operation from outside of containers, by treating terminals with chromium oxide, stripping the chromium oxide film except for the masked region thereof, and sealing the terminals at the chromium oxide treated region. CONSTITUTION:Material for voltage applying terminals 35 and 35', Fe-Ni-Cr alloy for example, is treated with chromium oxide for improving its sealing properties. The material is then masked with tape 40 or resist etc. only on the region to be sealed with glass containers, and dipped in aqueous solution of 5- 15% diluted nitric acid 42 and shaked by an ultrasonic cleaner 43 for 15-30min. As a result, the chromium oxide is left only in the masked region 44, and this region is sealed to the glass containers 32 and 33 by means of adhesive frit 38.
