    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tabular flame burner that carries out flame polish processing and the like in a very short time by using tabular flame without contaminating the surface of a glass, and to provide a method of processing the glass.SOLUTION: This relates to the tabular flame burner, including: a block body; a cylindrical combustion chamber; a rectification path for fuel; an oxygen-containing gas rectification path formed along the cylindrical combustion chamber in the direction of another tangent; a fuel supply path formed along the rectification path for fuel in the direction of a normal; and an oxygen-containing gas formed along the oxygen-containing gas supply path in the direction of the normal; and relates to the method for processing the glass using the same. In the cylindrical combustion chamber, the fuel introduced through the fuel supply path and fuel rectification path and the oxygen-containing gas introduced through the oxygen-containing gas supply path and oxygen-containing gas rectification path are mixed to be burned.

The vertical cylindrical glass melting tower 14 is provided with a tubular flame generation device 12 including at least first nozzles 12a, 12c for supplying fuel gas and second nozzles 12b, 12d for supplying oxygen-containing gas with respect to a tangential direction thereof.
