    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing yacon syrup, capable of efficiently obtaining yacon syrup with a high content of fructo-oligosaccharides; and yacon syrup obtained by the method.SOLUTION: Yacon syrup is produced by: a step S1 for washing harvested yacon potatoes; a step S2 for selecting and freezing the washed yacon potatoes without injury or with extremely small injury to the skin; a step S4 for braising the yacon potatoes after a step S3 for thawing the frozen yacon potatoes, or a step S4 for braising the frozen yacon potatoes as they are; a step S7 for collecting squeezed liquid or sugar liquid left at normal temperature from the braised yacon potatoes according to a liking; and steps S6 and S8 for heating the collected sugar liquid.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for occurrence forecast of "watercore disorder" of pear fruits which is difficult to perform by a conventional art.
      SOLUTION: This method for occurrence forecast of watercore disorder includes accurately monitoring the physical state when "watercore disorder" occurs, even immature fruits which has a long time to harvest, using genes which specifically express in fruits causing "watercore disorder" or their product, or their protein as a marker. In more details, the occurrence forecast of "watercore disorder" is performed, comparing a relative expression level or synthetic level of DNA or protein as a marker in fruits of a tree to be checked, with a level of fruits which cause "watercore disorder".
