    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle controller wherein a driving system control ECU and an engine control ECU are in different bodies, the vehicle controller being capable of optimum fuel injection and ignition corresponding to gear change modes. SOLUTION: A system having a gear change control ECU 17 and an engine control ECU 42 individually selects gear change characteristics by switching gear change maps 45 of the gear change control ECU 17 according to travel modes. A gear change map 45 outputs a target engine rotational frequency for controlling the gear ratio of a gearless drive mechanism 1. A motor driver 46 changes the gear ratio by driving a motor 7 according to the target engine rotational frequency and an actual rotational frequency. In response to the switching of the gear change map, one map each is selected out of both a plurality of ignition period maps 48 and a plurality of fuel injection time maps 49 in the engine control ECU 42 according to the travel modes. The slider mechanism (52) includes a slide rod (53) to be fit into the central axis hole (41h) of the movable camshaft (41) slidably to slide while receiving the action of an actuator (61), and an interlocking member (54) provided through a long hole (41s) formed longitudinally in the axial direction in the movable camshaft (41) for interlocking the slide rod (53) and the variable cam member (50). By the contact of the interlocking member (54) with the longitudinal end of the long hole (41s) of the movable valve camshaft (41), the sliding of the variable cam member (50) is limited.
