    • PURPOSE:To provide a uniform film thickness while preventing coating unevenness and sticking of foreign matters and to form a smooth coated film by forming the coated film on the outer surface of a cathode-ray tube panel part in a closed state. CONSTITUTION:A cathode-ray tube 14 is fixed with a reinforcing metal fittings 21, and covered with an enclosed container 17 so as to rotate the cathode-ray tube 14 in the arrow mark 22 direction. At the same time, a solution 19 for coated film formation is infected from a supply nozzle 18 to the outer surface 15 of a panel part 1, and by maintaining the rotation for shaking off the solution for a fixed time, the solution 19 is spread over the surface 15 and dried to form a smooth coated film. After that, firing is performed at a fixed temperature for a prescribed time so as to make it a rigid coated film. Since by covering the tube with the container 17, the surface to be coated is overall filled with vapor of a coat-forming material with no influence of a peripheral environment, the coating and drying are uniformly performed, and at the same time sticking of foreign matters can be prevented, and a coated film having a uniform film thickness can be formed without unevenness of coating.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of resolution and contrast and to prevent the occurrence of color interference and irregularity by forming a transparent conducting film and a protective film having about the preset surface glossiness and surface specific resistance on the outer surface of a panel by spraying. CONSTITUTION:The surface glossiness is set to 80% or above in the glossiness measuring method specified by the Japanese Industrial Standard JIS-Z8741. The surface specific resistance is set to 10 -10 OMEGA/square. A transparent conducting film is generated by spraying a solution containing preset quantities of a solvent mainly made of at least one kind of tin oxide, indium oxide and antimony oxide, silicone oxide, ethanol and isopropanol, a catalyst required for hydrolysis, water and a drying speed modifier. A protective film is generated by spraying a solution containing preset quantities of a solvent mainly made of silicone oxide, ethanol and isopropanol, a catalyst required for hydrolysis, water and a drying speed modifier respectively.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a cathode-ray tube of high contrast and having an excellent antistatic effect by providing a colored transparent conductive film on the outer surface of a panel. CONSTITUTION:A colored transparent conductive film is provided on the outer surface of the panel of a cathode-ray tube. After an alcohol solution containing e.g. an organic dye and at least one kind selected among tin oxide, indium oxide and antimon oxide, all having conductivity, and ethyl silicate is applied on the outer surface of the panel, heating at temperatures of 100 to 200 deg.C or so is carried out to form a transparent conductive film. Since the colored transparent conductive film 8 can be formed at heating temperatures of 200 deg.C or less, it can be directly applied to a cathode-ray tube 1 completed. Formation of this colored transparent conductive film also reduced high reflectance experienced in the case of a transparent conductive film only.
