    • PURPOSE: To simplify the assembly work with a reduce number of parts and absorb the difference of expansion degrees of a cylindrical body and a porous sheet due to thermal expansion in order to prevent separation of a catalyst by making an inner cylinder of an exhaust gas purifying apparatus up of a stainless steel having a higher coefficient of linear thermal expansion than that of a specified ferritic stainless steel sheet. CONSTITUTION: One end part 22a of an inner pipe 22 is inserted in one end part 21a of a cylindrical body 21 and welded for temporary fixation and the whole circumferential parts of one end parts 21a, 22a are fixed in the other end parts 11b of a first exhaust gas discharging pipe 11. Moreover, the other end part 22b of the inner pipe 22 is inserted in one end part 13a of a second exhaust gas discharging pipe 13 and the whole circumferential parts of the other end parts 21b, 14b are fixed in one end part 13a. A porous sheet of which the inner pipe 22 is composed is a ferritic stainless steel sheet containing Cr 16-18%, C not more than 0.12%, Mn not more than 1, and Si not more than 0.75. On the other hand, the cylindrical body 21 is made of a stainless steel sheet having higher coefficient of linear thermal expansion than that of the inner pipe 22.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the cooling and lubricating for a rotary valve to be performed simultaneously by providing a liquid sealed space on the bearing of a rotary-type intake suction and exhaust valve, and then, circulating the lubricating oil through the inside of said space. CONSTITUTION:A rotary-type intake valve and a rotary-type exhaust valve, which are communicating with a combustion chamber 8, are provided with two openings 13, 13' respectively, and perform their intake and exhaust functions through these openings, which are communicating with intake and exhaust passages 7, 7'. Valve bodies 13d, 13'd, 13c, 13'c, which form said openings 13, 13' respectively, have inclined faces at their outer periphery, and rotate in contact with seats 12, 12' while performing gas seal. Between the valve bodies 13d, 13'c, liquid seals 64, 65 are arranged at a distance from each other, and the lubricating oil is supplied lubricating oil circulates within said distance, and performs the cooling together with the lubrication for the valve, and then, it is discharged from a hole which is not illustrated by a diagram here, for its further circulation.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of enhancing the corrosion resistance of a storage part while restraining painting cost in a fuel tank for a vehicle.
      SOLUTION: A film coating 26 for a main body is formed on the outer surface of a tank body 12 into a design face. Also, a film coating 27 for a storage part is formed on the outer face of the storage part 14 so as to increase corrosion resistance. That is corrosion resistant painting is applied on the outer face of the tank body, and strong corrosion resistant painting with corrosion resistance higher than the corrosion resistant painting is applied on the outer face of the storage part. As a result, normal corrosion resistant painting is applied on the outer face of the tank body in light of a design so as to emphasize a design property. Meanwhile, for example, special ethanol corrosion resistant painting enduring gasoline containing a large amount of ethanol is applied to the outer face of the storage part where the fuel is easy to be stored so as to prevent corrosion at the storage part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure effective welding length by making the butting part of an outer cylinder coincident to the winding end part of a honeycomb part when the depth of a recessed part exceeds a prescribed value based on the depth of the recessed part of the winding end part as a reference and intentionally shifting the winding end part when the depth of the recessed part is within the prescribed value to limit a welding place to only one place.
      SOLUTION: In the production of a metal made catalyst carrier 20, the outer cylinder 25 formed by welding the butting part 26 from the outside and the honeycomb part 23 formed by laminating a corrugated plate 22 on a flat plat 21 and winding into a roll like state are prepared, the depth of the recessed part in the winding end part 28 of the honeycomb part 23 is measured and in the case that the depth of the recessed part exceeds the prescribed value, the honeycomb part 23 is inserted in the outer cylinder 25 in a state of making the winding end part 28 coincident to the butting part 26 and is fillet-welded to the outer cylinder 25. On the other hand, in the case that the depth of the recessed part is within the prescribed value, the honeycomb part 23 is inserted to the outer cylinder 25 in a state of shifting the winding end part 28 from the butting part 26 and is fillet-welded to the outer cylinder 25. As a result, the length of the unwelded part is shortened to secure the effective welding length.
