摘要： PURPOSE:To provide a hardened roll for a multistage rolling mill having high hardness and high wear resistance and excellent in dimple resistance by means of high temp. tempering. CONSTITUTION:The working roll for multistage rolling mill is composed of a high alloy steel having a composition consisting of, by weight, 2.45-4% C, 1-2.5% Si, 0.6-2% Mn, 0.3-1.5% Ni, 6-8% Cr, >11-15% Mo, 10-20% W, 5-10% V, 12-16% Co, and the balance essentially Fe and is formed by performing hardening and tempering. By this method, the hardness of this roll is regulated to >=HRC68 and increased by >=HRC2 as compared with conventional high V-high speed tool steel and high Mo-high Co high speed tool steel, and further, wear resistance and dimple resistance can be improved by >=2 folds and i1.3 folde respectively.

摘要： PURPOSE:To allow a composite roll to combine high thermal shock cracking resistance with high wear resistance by constituting the composite roll of a core material made of low alloy steel having a specific hardness lower than that of outer layer material and an outer layer material made of high alloy steel in which hardness, structure, and residual stress are specified, respectively. CONSTITUTION:This composite roll is constituted of a core material made of low alloy steel having a hardness of >=35 Shore hardness and lower than the hardness of outer layer material and an outer layer material made of high alloy steel having a martensitic structure of >=80 Shore hardness and =70kg/mm residual stress at the outermost surface. In order to produce this roll, progressive hardening in which, while applying progressive heating to the outer layer material alone up to a temp. not lower than the austenite transformation point, a liquid refrigerant is sprayed on the heated part is performed. Then, high-temp. tempering treatment in which the amount of retained austenite phase in the outer layer material is regulated to =300 deg.C is made possible even if the surface hardness is regulated to a value equal to that of the conventional roll, resistance to thermal shock can be improved while maintaining wear resistance equal to that of the conventional roll.

摘要： PURPOSE:To judge peeling strength rapidly and accurately by providing reciprocation by fluid pressure, etc., by applying percussion of a constant load at constant intervals, and then by measuring the number of times of the precussion up to the appearance of peeling. The bolts and nuts 5 are movable on fixture stand 2 and hammer 1 moves at right angles to the test surface of test piece 7 to adjust the distance between chisel 8 and test piece 7; and bolts and nuts 4 are tightened up to inhibit hammer 1 from shifting in position in percussion. Through air hose 6, compressed air of constant pressure is blown to apply test piece 7 with percussion of a constant load by chisel 8, thereby judging the peeling strength of test piece 7. Consequently, the peeling strength of actual products can be judged rapidly and accurately.

摘要： PURPOSE:To obtain a titled roll having sufficient strength, by filling a center hole of a used roll with a metallic member having a corresponding shape, and junctioning the member and the roll body. CONSTITUTION:For instance, a used work roll for a cold rolling machine is anneal-treated, its center hole is ground to a prescribed shape, and after that, an oxidized film generated by said annealing is removed. On the other hand, a round bar having a better forging property than this material and having a shape corresponding to the center hole is manufactured, and it is inserted into the ground center hole of the used roll and is welded. Subsequently, the shape part is forged as a grip part. A regenerated roll obtained in this way, has no crack nor air-gap, and the filling material and the roll material become a welded state by forging.

摘要： PURPOSE:To suppress the occurrence of strain in a roll to be rehardened after annealing by annealing the roll by gradual low frequency induction heating and by controlling electric power impressed on a heating coil while comparing with a set value. CONSTITUTION:When a worn hardened roll made of forged steel is rehardened and reused until the diameter becomes too small for rolling, annealing is carried out as pretreatment before the rehardening to relieve the residual stress in the roll. In order to carry out the annealing, only the body of the roll to be heated is heated by gradual low frequency induction heating and electric power impressed on a heating coil is controlled in comparison with a set value to heat the body at a prescribed temp. Thus, the occurrence of strain after the annealing is suppressed and treatment is completed in a short time.
