    • PURPOSE: To reduce exposure dose of workers and replace structure easily, reliably and in a short time by removing the radioactivated in-reactor structure in full water state of reactor well and placing new structure after draining the reactor water and placing shielding in the core region. CONSTITUTION: For reducing the exposure of workers, the reactor well is filled with reactor water in the reactor water state maintained at the flange lower end level and such core components as core shroud 16, core support plate 24, jet pump 30 etc., are removed by cutting with a remote control under-water cutting device and special tools. Then, the reactor water is drained out with decontamiming the vessel 1 inside using high pressure water and notched shieldings 43 or separated shieldings are placed in the range including the core region to prepare the atmosphere available of recovery work. By using a gondola 44 and approaching to the recovery location, remaining stress around each welding part is bettered with high pressure water in the marginal space, the surface is refurbished with new material with good corrosion resistivity and new core component is directly fixed in the same method as that for plant construction case.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to replace a jet pump efficiently in a short time by installing a work frame in a reactor pressure vessel after carrying out core- area equipment such as a jet pump. SOLUTION: As to a work frame 1 fixed to a base 4 on an empty control rod drive mechanism housing 3 in a reactor pressure vessel 2, each of working platforms 8 to 11 is provided for each work level and each of holes 12 to 15 is bored in each of the working platforms 8 to 11 in order to allow workers to move to each of the work floors 8 to 11 with ladders 16. In a centering mechanism 17 of the work frame 1, the center of the reactor pressure vessel 2 is aligned with that of the work frame 1 by a pendulum 18 and radically mounted antivibration arms 21 prevent the work frame 1 from rolling and stably fix it in the central position. Then, work arms 29 and 30 and those 33 and 34 on the opposite side grasp and move riser pipes 28 and diffusers in simultaneous work and a centering mechanism 20, for example, sets the center of brackets of the riser pipes 28 at the position coincident with the lower end of a pendulum 25 or a line 26. This makes it possible to replace a jet pump equipped with riser pipes and the like efficiently in a short period.
