    • PURPOSE:To improve the lubrication of a bearing metal, by effecting cooling on the bearing surface at its unloaded point and effecting lubrication on the surface at its loaded point. CONSTITUTION:Partition walls 43, 48 are protruded in almost the central sections of a pair of lubricating grooves 25, 26 provided on the inside circumferential surface of a bearing metal 2A so that the grooves are divided into small grooves 41, 44, 46, 49. The small grooves 44, 49 located ahead as to the direction of rotation function as oil supply grooves. The other small grooves 41, 46 located behind as to the direction of rotation function as oil drain grooves. The pair of grooves 41, 49 and the other pair of grooves 44, 46 are located between the partition walls 43, 48 so that the oil supply groove 44 and the oil drain groove 46 are connected to each other through the clearance on the bearing surface at its loaded point to perform lubrication and the oil supply groove 49 and the oil drain groove 41 are connected to each other through the clearance on the bearing surface at its unloaded point to perform cooling.

    • PURPOSE:To shorten the time necessary for rearrangement of the rolls on purpose to improve the producibility, by providing the lower horizontal-roll-chock with the spacer for holding the vertical-roll-chock, on purpose to draw out simultaneously the upper and lower horizontal-roll-chocks and the vertical-roll-chock. CONSTITUTION:At rearrangement of the rolls, the rail 16 is lifted, and the lower horizontal-roll-chock-autospacer 14 is lifted through the wheel 15 and is stopped at the required position by the hole 10 of the vertical-roll-chock 7. Hereupon, the vertical-roll-chock-autospacer 12 is lifted up and is inserted into the hole of the upper horizontal-roll-chock 17 so as to fit and stop. Under this condition, the upper horizontal-roll-chock 6, the vertical-roll-chock 7, and the lower horizontal-roll-chock 8 are overlapped through the vertical-roll-chock-autospacer 12 and the lower horizontal-roll-chock-autospacer 18. Next, these are drawn out of the housing by the rearranging hook installed in the tip of the rearranging cylinder, and then, the rearrangement of rolls is performed.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent the reduction of a fatigue strength due to rusting by a method wherein a groove is provided on the end face of a seal ring contacting with the vertical end face of the cylinder of the roll at the neck part of the rolling roll and a rubber ring is mounted therein. CONSTITUTION:The seal ring 1 is fitted to a cylindrical surface 8 formed in the groove 9 provided on the end face 6' of the roll and concentric with the axial line of the roll by shrinkage fitting. A groove for the rubber ring is provided on the vertical end face of the seal ring 1 at the roll cylinder side and the rubber ring is mounted to seal the clearnace between the roll side end face and the side end of the seal ring. According to this method, invasion of cooling water to the shrinkage- fitted cylindrical surface 8 and the rounded corner part 10 thereby preventing the rusting of the cylindrical surface 8 and the rounded corner part 10.
