摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of measuring the quantity of state for the frame of a passenger conveyer capable of measuring the quantity of state for the frame without using a measure or a piano wire. SOLUTION: An electro-optical distance meter 5 is installed in a getting on and off way over the lower horizontal part 4C of an upper chord member 1a of a frame 1. The tip part 3C of a beam 3 is brought into contact with a lower intersection point C of the upper chord member 1a in order to project light from the electro-optical distance meter 5 to a first reflection part 3A and a second reflection part 3B respectively. Three dimensional coordinates of the reflection parts 3A and 3B are operated by the electro-optical distance meter 5 on the basis of the triangle formed by the electro-optical distance meter 5 and the reflection parts 3A and 3B. For example, based on the three dimensional coordinate of the reflection part 3A, the coordinate of the tip part 3C of the beam 3, that is the three dimensional coordinate of the lower intersection point C, is obtained. Similarly, the three dimensional coordinate of an upper intersection point D is obtained. Based on these three dimensional coordinates of the upper and lower intersection points C and D, the quantity of state for the frame 1, such as the length of an inclination part 4e of the upper chord member 1a, is obtained. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a passenger conveyor that can reliably detect presence or absence of a riding passenger without using a post outside passenger conveyor equipment and by regulating an entry of a person unintentional in using the passenger conveyor to a landing. SOLUTION: The passenger conveyor comprises a guide fence 12 disposed on a landing floor 4 forming an entry landing to guide a straight-going passenger going to a flight of steps 6 to ride on it, a first detector 13 disposed on the guide fence 12 to detect presence or absence of a straight-going passenger guided by the guide fence 12, and if detecting a straight-going passenger, output a signal to command that the flight of steps 6 and handrails 7 operate in a lifting direction, and a second detector 15 positioned on a landing floor 5 forming an exit landing in a spaced relation over a given distance to the flight of steps 6 to detect presence or absence of a counter-going passenger intentional in riding from the opposite direction to the lifting direction, and if detecting a counter-going passenger, output a signal to block the ride of the counter-going passenger on the flight of steps 6.

Particularly the process renewing the handrail simplifies work by providing a guide part 28A corresponding to a large diametric drive wheel 26 to partially utilize an existing handrail drive mechanism left as it is.
