    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a carriage assembly and a recording disk drive mechanism which can position terminals with each other correctly and easily.
      SOLUTION: Steps 34 are formed on a first flexible printed circuit board (FPC) 26, and the steps 34 form a wall facing the edge of the second flexible printed circuit board (FPC) 32. Thus, recesses 35 are formed on the first FPC 26. A second FPC 32 is stacked on the first FPC 26 when connecting a first terminal 36 and a second terminal 38 together. The second terminal 38 is correctly positioned simply with the first terminal 36 when the second FPC 32 is received in the recess 25. It is sufficient to visually check whether the second FPC 32 is received or not in the recess 35 when checking the positioning. Thus the positioning time can be shortened significantly.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a terminal joining method whereby the extension of a solder can be avoided. SOLUTION: The terminal joining method is performed in the following way. An end 56 of a bonding tip 51 is specified between its first and second ridges 52, 54. A first inclined surface 53 goes away from a first terminal 36 as it goes away from the first ridge 52. A second inclined surface 55 goes away from the first terminal 36 as it goes away from the second ridge 54. A solder 39 enclosed with first and second border lines 41, 42 is disposed on the first terminal 36. The portion of a second terminal 38 is disposed on the inside region enclosed with the first and second border lines 41, 42. When contacting pressingly the end 56 of the bonding tip 51 with the second terminal 38, a heat is conducted from the end 56 to the second terminal 38. The solder 39 is fused. The solder 39 is extended to the space between the first inclined surface 53 and the second terminal 38, and to the space between the second inclined surface 55 and the second terminal 38. The extension of the solder 39 is avoided onto the outside region of the first terminal 36. The generation of the short circuit is avoided between the adjacent first terminals 36, 36 to each other. Air inlet pipes 11 are respectively arranged between the magnetic disks, air 15 outside the device is conducted through a filter 8 to an air chamber 10 by utilizing the negative pressure applied to the magnetic disk center member and taken into the air inlet pipes. The introduced air is circulated from the disk center part toward the peripheral part and discharged to the outside of the device through a filter 9 provided in the positive pressure part.
