CONSTITUTION:A positive type photosensitive resin layer 2 is formed on a transparent image 1 obtained by using a plate making photosensitive material, and the layer 2 is uniformly exposed from the side of a transparent support 11 in the arrow direction, as shown in the figure. At that time, the photosensitive resin 22 located on the silver image part 122 is not exposed, and only the resin 21 located on the nonimage parts 123 are exposed. When the resin layer 2 is developed, only the resin layers 21 of the exposed parts are removed, and the resin layer 3 on the silver image part 122 remains as it is. When this original is reduced, the silver image 122 undergoes action of the reducing soln. from the side faces. Therefore, the image can be reduced while lowering of the image density is controlled.

    • PURPOSE:To erase a picture part in a short time by irradiating laser light to a desired picture part to be erased of a PS plate after a picture is exposed. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive lithographic printing plate provided with a photosensitive layer is exposed as to its picture on a supporting body having a hydrophilic surface of aluminum, etc., and thereafter, before a development or after the development, laser light is irradiated to an unnecessary picture part and a component for constituting the picture part is removed from the supporting body by being accompanied with decomposition and evaporation, and the hydrophilic surface of the suporting body is exposed, by which the picture part concerned is erased. As for the laser light concerned, that which has an energy intensity which can eliminate the component by evaporation, etc. is used, but especially, a carbon dioxide gas laser and a YAG laser are desirable, and the energy quantity is 5-20J/cm , and 10-20J/cm is more desirably.

After the layer is exposed, it is developed with an aq. alkaline soln. The o- quinonediazide compd. contained in the positive type photosensitive compsn. is photodecomposed by the exposure to produce an acidic product, and a visible image having sufficient contrast is obtained by change of tone caused by mutual action of said acidic product and the oxonol dye. The use of said dye reduces residual coloring indifferent of using a fresh or fatigued developing soln. and causes no uneven development.

CONSTITUTION:The visible print-out image obtd. by exposing an image with a positive type PS plate 10 is displayed on an image receiving tube 22 of a video device 20 and the unnecessary images 11', 12', 13' are indicated by a light pen 30. The information on the indicated position is inputted to an X-Y plotter 40 and the head 41 of the X-Y plotter is disposed to the corresponding position of the plate 10 exposed with the image. Active rays are irradiated from the tip of an optical fiber 51 attached to the head 41 to expose the unnecessary images 11, 12, 13 and thereafter the positive PS plate is developed. The unnecessary parts on the print-out image, for example, the dust sticking to the glass of a vacuum printing frame, film edge, register mark and the other parts which are left without being exposed owing to the presence of foreign matter are erased by such operation. The stain-free printed matter having good quality is thus obtd.

      CONSTITUTION: A positive type photosensitive layer made of a mixture of, e.g. an o-naphthoquinonediazide compd., a novolak type phenolic resin, a dye, etc. is formed on a support having a hydrophilic surface, e.g. an anodized aluminum plate, to form a positive type lithographic plate (a positive type PS plate), and it is imagewise exposed with an active ray. Then, unnecessary unexposed parts caused by dust, film edges, etc. are exposed to the active ray having about 1W 5mm light diameter guided through optical fibers, and it is developed by the ordinary method. At that time, it is desirable to use a device obtained by connecting one end of an industrial fiber scope with the lamp chamber of a vacuum printing frame and the other end with an optical fiber pen.
