    • PURPOSE:To furnish a method for liquid film formation which prevents wavy nonuniformity due to air flowing into an end part of a pressure reducing chamber. CONSTITUTION:Openings 11 of suction pipings 10 for pressure reduction are provided at positions located in a range of 0 to 0.3 times as large as the whole width from the opposite ends in the width direction of a pressure reducing chamber 9, and a polymer solution is extruded while/the pressure of air in the vicinity of the back of an extruding part of an extruder die is reduced. In another way, partition plates dividing an area including the openings 11 of the suction pipings 10 in the pressure reducing chamber 9 at the back of the extruder die and an area not including the openings 11 are provided, a gap between the partition plates and a support running continuously is made 0.5 to 20mm, and by using equipment constructed in this way, the polymer solution is extruded while the pressure of the air in the vicinity of the back of the extruding part of the extruder die is reduced. In still another way, a plurality of labyrinth type seal plates are disposed in the vicinity of the opposite end parts in the width direction of the pressure reducing chamber 9, and the polymer solution is extruded while the air in the vicinity of the back of the extruding part of the extruder die is sucked from the openings 11 of the suction pipings for pressure reduction.

    • PURPOSE:To eliminate the condensation of solvent vapor in a vacuum chamber and consequently prevent trouble of falling drops from occurring and make the increase of casting speed possible by a method wherein polymer solution dissolved in organic solvent is cast from a die on a backing and the inner wall temperature of the vacuum chamber, which evacuate the casting part from the rear of the die, is held higher than the condensation point of the organic solvent to be sucked. CONSTITUTION:Polymer solution, which is prepared by dissolving cellulose triacetate or cellulose diacetate with organic solvent such as methylene chloride, methanol or the like is cast on the surface of backing such as endless belt 5 or drum so as to form the film concerned. Further, the inner wall temperature of a vacuum chamber 9, which evacuates the rear face of the casting part 2 from the rear of a die 1, is held higher than the condensation point of the organic solvent to be sucked. In order to keep the inner wall higher than said temperature, any heat transferring means such as transmission, convection and radiation may well be employed. The preferable heat source is the heating by means of steam or not water. By the above-mentioned method, no condensation of the solvent vapor occurs in the vacuum chamber and consequently no dripping of condensate from the inner wall onto the backing occurs, resulting in eliminating the development of 'trouble of falling drops'.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer film of controlled fluctuation in thickness. SOLUTION: A dope containing a polymer and a solvent is discharged from a casting die 30. The dope touches down to a casting drum 31 while forming a casting bead 38, and is cast along with traveling of the casting drum 31. Backside 38a of the casting bead is decompressed to (atmospheric pressure -300) Pa by a decompression chamber 36. Air shielding plates 70 and 71, to block an associated wind from the casting drum 31, are provided inside the decompression chamber 36. Openings 90 for air passage are formed in upper half portions of the shielding plates 70 and 71. The associated wind is blocked by setting the distance L (mm), between the contact position A of the casting bead and the shielding plate 70, in the range of 20 mm to 100 mm.     • PURPOSE:To enable shortening of a peeling period of time, by a method wherein the temperatures of a dope, film and support during a period of time from casting of the dope(A) and dope(B) on the support till peeling off of them are set in a specific range. CONSTITUTION:The temperature of a dope of a casting part and that of a support of the first half part of transfer and said part of a cast film on the support is made higher than the gelatinization temperature of the dope, whose maximum temperature is made lower by 30 deg.C than the foam forming temperature and the temperature of the film and support on a peeling part of the film is made lower than 20 deg.C. The dope(A) and dope(B) are cast respectively from a first casting port 1 and second casting port 2 to a band which is at positions of drums 4, 5, hot air 7 is blown against the upper part of the band 6 in the vicinity of a casting part of the dope(A) and broken away from the band when the same arrives at a position of about three quarters of a length of the band 6. Cool air 8 is blown against the surface of the band 6 in the vicinity of the lower part of the drum 4 and broken away from the band 6 when the same arrives at a position of about a quater of the length of the band 6. The drum 4 is cooled by cold water 9, the drum 5 is heated by hot water 10 and the film cast is peeled off from a peeling part 11.
