The housing cylinder 2 has a recessed part extending over the entire circumference of the internal surface thereof, and the coil is fitted into the recessed part. In the torque detector, protruded parts 23a-23f for getting the housing cylinder 2 supported at the given point are provided on the external surface of an axial part having no recessed part.
