SOLUTION: In the phase/amplitude characteristic estimation apparatus, first transmission information removing parts (12, 13 and 14) remove transmission information from the received signal of a data channel where already known information is transmitted time-multiplexed between pieces of unknown information and output phase/amplitude information showing phase/amplitude characteristic which the data channel has received at the propagation path.       SOLUTION: The concatenated code decoder includes an inner code decoding means to decode an inner code of an input sequence, an outer code decoding means to decode an outer code of the decoded sequence output from the inner code decoding means, a weighting information generation means to generate weighting information based on a decoding success or failure information output from the outer code decoding means, a re-encoding means to re-encode the decoded sequence output from the outer code decoding means, a multiplication means to multiply the re-encoded sequence output from the re-encoding means by the weighting information output from the weighting information generation means to perform weighting, and an addition means to add the re-encoded sequence output from the multiplication means and the input sequence and supply the result to the inner code decoding means. The weighting information generation means generates the first weighting information of a predetermined value when it is determined that decoding is succeeded for the decoded sequence output from the outer code decoding means. Meanwhile, when it is determined that decoding is failed for the decoded sequence output from the outer code decoding means, the weighting information generation means generates second weighting information which is smaller than the first weighting information and has a value exceeding 0.
