    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means which readily enables obtaining of refrigerating function by building a smaller refrigerator that can be housed into a larger refrigerator. SOLUTION: A door 11 is fastened on the front of a box body 10 comprising a heat insulating material 10a, and a thermoelement 12 is installed at the rear of the box body 10. A heat exchanger 13 is attached to one joint part 12a of the thermoelement 12, to perform a heat exchange between the joint part 12a and the inside 10c of the box body 10, and a heat exchanger 14 is attached to the other joint part 12b to perform a heat exchange between the joint part 12b and the outside of the box body 10. Power is supplied to the thermoelement 12 to absorb heat at the joint part 12a with a power source 15 and to generate heat at the joint part 12b, so that the inside 10c of the box body 10 is cooled. This allows the use of the box body 10 as a smaller refrigerator and also as freezing chamber, by housing it 10 in a larger refrigerator.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve an achievement coefficient of a heat/cold reserving apparatus by effectively utilizing heat, in a type which keeps coffee or the like left half-finished hot or cool using a thermoelement. SOLUTION: The pressure in a heat pipe 4 buried into a cup receptacle 2, having a cup 1 with coffee therein put thereon, is controlled with bellows 8, being stretched by an actuator 9 to perform a heat flow switch function. When the temperature of the cup 1 is higher than that of heat reserved, the pressure in the heat pipe 4 is raised to lower the level of heat transmission between the cup and a thermoelement 3, thereby preventing heat from escaping to the thermoelement from the cup 1. When the temperature of the cup is lower than that of heat reserved, the pressure in the heat pipe 4 is lowered to keep the cup 1 hot by heat from a joint part 3a on the heating side of the thermoelement 3. The pressure ho in a heat pipe 14 buried into a drink container receptacle 12, having a drink container 11 put thereon, however, is controlled with bellows 18 being stretched by an actuator 19. When the temperature of the drink container 11 is lower than that of cold reserved, the level of heat transmission between the container, and a thermoelement 13 is lowered while it is raised, when the temperature is higher than that of cold reserved.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for conveniently and efficiently controlling the temperature, when an object is cooled or heated to a desired temperature by means of a thermoelectric element. SOLUTION: An object to be cooled/heated, e.g. a can filled with juice, is cooled by means of a thermoelectric element 13. Temperature S1 of the can is detected at a temperature detecting section 21, compared with a desired temperature S2 of the can 11 set at a setting section 22b and a binary signal S3 of 1 is delivered, if the temperature S1 of the can 11 is higher than temperature S2, and otherwise a binary signal S3 of 0 is delivered. A power supply section 23 is controlled by the binary signal S3 to supply the thermoelectric element 13 with a maximum current required for cooling down the can 11 to the desired temperature S2, if the binary signal S3 is 1 otherwise supply the thermoelectric element 13 with a minimum current required for cooling down the can 11 to the desired temperature S2.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide means for stably holding the cooling or heating temp. of a hybrid refrigerator. SOLUTION: A compressor 11 compresses a vapor refrigerant evaporated by an evaporator 14 and sends it to a condenser 12. The condenser 12 cools the vapor refrigerant from the compressor to condense it into a liq. refrigerant. The condensed high-pressure liq. refrigerant is changed through an expansion valve 13 to a low pressure one and sent to the evaporator 14. The evaporator 14 at low pressure evaporates the liq. refrigerant, thus constituting a refrigeration cycle for absorbing heat from surroundings. A specified current is caused to flow from a power source 22 to the evaporator 14 by bringing one junction of a Peltier element 21 into thermal contact and the other junction is, e.g. cooled to cool the interior 31a of a covered box 31 through a heat exchanger 25 such as absorbing fins attached to this junction. A heat storage body 24 composed of a Cu thick plate or the like having a high thermal conductivity and a high specific heat is set between the evaporator 14 in the refrigeration cycle and one junction of the Peltier element 21.

    • PURPOSE:To quiet a false image at the time of displaying an animation having a brightness difference based on the intermediate gradation of a television image or the like displayed on a plasma display panel or the like and to prevent the generation of flickers even on a screen having medium brightness. CONSTITUTION:A video signal 1 is converted into a digital signal consisting of required bits by an A/D conversion part 2 and the digital signal is recorded in a frame memory 3 in each field. The data in the memory 3 are inputted to a sub-field generating part 4 and plural sub-fields(SFs) in which the relative rates of luminance is binarily different are formed so that the brightest SF is arranged on the center and succeeding SFs are successively and alternately arranged on respective sides of the brightest SF in the descending order of brightness to constitute a 1st field and a 2nd field is constituted by arranging SFs in the reverse order of the 1st field. Two SF signals are alternately switched through a driving part 5 and displayed on a plasma display panel(PDP) 6.

    • PURPOSE:To improve image quality by obscuring the false contours generated on a display screen at the time of displaying images on a PDP. CONSTITUTION:This image display method and its device pass the video signals subjected to color demodulation of input video signals through a low-pass filter 4 and detect the region where the space frequency is small on the display screen at the time of displaying the images by the input video signals in a medium contrast on a PDP 1. The video signals corresponding to the detected region are latched in a latching section 5 and the A/D conversion level of the video signals corresponding only to the stored region is changed by the min. display gradation n/(NXM) (n=1,..., NXM) and the level generation patterns are changed by each of fields (odd and even) to change the conversion level (comparing voltage) of an A/D conversion section 3 for digitally converting the input video signals by a comparing voltage generating section 9. On the other hand, the level of the other parts of the video signals is not changed and the generation position of the false contours of the images in the parts where the brightness changes gently on the display screen is changed. The degradation in the resolution of the images in the parts where the brightness changes sharply, etc., is prevented.
