    • PURPOSE:To improve an electromagnetic conversion characteristic and travel durability, to make the loading of a head difficult to occur, to record data for a long time and to miniaturize a device by forming a ferromagnetic metallic thin film, providing a lubricant layer and executing a pressurizing processing so that the inclination of a crystal column forming the ferromagnetic metallic thin film falls toward the direction of travel. CONSTITUTION:When the ferromagnetic metallic thin film is formed on a non- magnetic supporting by an oblique vapor diposition method, the lubricant layer is provided on it, the non-magnetic supporting is traveled in such a way that the inclination of the crystal column forming the ferromagnetic metallic thin film falls toward the direction of travel and the pressurizing processing is executed by a pressure roller, a satisfactory magnetic recording medium can be obtained even if the thickness of the non-magnetic supporting is less than about nine mum. Thus, the thin magnetic recording medium in which the electromagnetic conversion character is satisfactory, travel durability is improved and especially the loading of the head is difficult to occur can be obtained.

    • PURPOSE:To improve still durability and traveling durability at and under a high temp. and high humidity as well as a low temp. and low humidity by disposing fine particles which are introduced from a silica sol and are specified in average grain size on the surface of a magnetic layer and incorporating a compd. which can be polymerized by projection of radiations as a binder into said particles. CONSTITUTION:The fine particles which are introduced from the silica sol and have 18-800mmu average grain size are disposed on the surface of the magnetic layer of a coating type magnetic recording medium and the compd. which can be polymerized by the projection of radiations is incorporated into the particles as the binder thereof. The grain size of the silica particles is preferably 30-400mmu. There is no effect of this invention if the silica grain size is smaller than 18mmu. On the other hand, drop-outs increase and such increase is undesirable if the grain size exceeds 800mmu. The magnetic recording medium having the excellent still durability and traveling durability at and under the high temp. and high humidity as well as the low temp. and low humidity is thereby obtd.
