    • PURPOSE:To enhance a color forming speed and density, in thermal recording paper using a microcapsule showing permeability at the time of heating, by using oil having two or more of benzene rings and containing the specific number or less of hetero atoms as the core oil of the microcapsule. CONSTITUTION:As an org. solvent coming to core oil, a compound, wherein two or more of benzene rings are contained in the molecule thereof and the total number of hetero atoms of N, S, O and P are 1/10 or less of the total number of carbon atoms, is used. As this compound, a compound represented by each of formulae I-III [wherein R1, R3, R5 and R6 are hydrogen or an alkyl group, R2 and R4 are an alkyl group, p , q , p and q are 1-4, q is 1-3, (n) is 1 or 2 and (m) is 1-13] is designated. This org. solvent is used in an amount of 2-50pts.wt. of a leuco dye and, after both of them are emulsified, a wall comprising a high-molecular substance is formed around each oil droplet to obtain a microcapsule. This microcapsule is applied to a support along with the coupler and a binder.

    • PURPOSE:To prevent curling of a web support by coating the web support with a layer hardenable with electron beams on the side to be coated with emulsion layers, pressing a roll having a specified radius of curvature to the reverse side of the support with the coating layer outside to harden it in this roll-pressed state, and forming the emulsion layers on the convexly curved side. CONSTITUTION:A web support is coated with a compsn. contg. an unsatd. org. compd. polymerizable with electron beams and an inorg. white pigment on the side to be coated with emulsion layers, the support, with the coating layer outside, is pressed to a roll having a radius of curvature of 25-250cm, and exposed to irradiation of electron beams in this state. The convexly curved hardened face thus obtained is coated with the photographic emulsion layers. As said hardenable resin, fatty acid polyurethane acrylate, etc. are used, and as said inorg. white pigment, TiO2, etc. are used. When a photographic printing paper prepared by using such a electron beam hardened compsn. and forming emulsion layers on the convex face of said compsn. is exposed to a light negative image, developed, and dried, no curling is found on the web support. As a result, curling having a curling axis rectangular to the advance direction of the support web can be prevented.

    • PURPOSE:To improve fixability and electrostatic chargeability by using a mixture of microcapsules using hardenable materials as well as hardenable materials and hardeners as core materials as a capsule toner for pressure fixing and contg. a display recording material in one of these capsules. CONSTITUTION:Polyurethane acrylate, a polymn. accelerator, carbon black as well as magnetite and hexamethylene diisocyanate are compounded, and the compound is dispersed in a mixed solvent of acetone, hexane, etc. The soln. is added into an aq. soln. of gum arabic under vigorous stirring, whereby an emulsion of oil in water type is formed. Water at 40 deg.C is added to the emulsion to rise the temp. gradually to 90 deg.C and the emulsion is held for 20min under stirring, whereby microcapsules are formed. The capsule soln. is centrifugally separated to separate the gum arabic water, whereby powdery capsule toner is obtained. Thereafter, microcapsules of hardeners such as benzoyl peroxide are similarly obtaind. Two kinds of such powdery capsules are mixed, whereby the toner for pressure fixing is obtd.

    • PURPOSE:To obtain a medium which is suitable for laser recording of low energy and obviates unequal recording by joining a substrate and resin film under the pressure higher than the atmospheric pressure, then reducing the pressure to form a prescribed gaseous layer between both. CONSTITUTION:Hot-melt adhesive agents 16, 17 are coated on the substrate 11 and the resin film 12 is superposed thereon. The substrate and the film are then disposed between a heater block 26 in a pressurized vessel 19 and a receiving jig 21. Compressed air of 1.2-5atm is introduced into the vessel after the substrate 11 and the film 12 are joined by operating a thermocompression bonding machine 18, the substrate and film are taken out under the atmospheric pressure. The hermetic part between the substrate 11 and the film 12 is then expanded and the gaseous layer 34 is formed. This gaseous layer 34 constitutes the space for diffusion of the oxygen or evaporating gas necessary for combustion of the recording material at the time of forming bits. The medium suitable for a low-energy laser is thus obtd. and since there is no difference in the combustion evaporation, the medium which obviates the unequal recording is obtd.

    • PURPOSE: To prevent a recording material from being colored and obtain images with high developed color density and contrast, by incorporating at least one selected from 2-mercaptobenzothiazoles and thiurams into an organic solvent solution of a basic leuco dye contained in microcapsules.
      CONSTITUTION: Among a group of compounds suitable for being incorporated in microcapsules together with a basic leuco dye, 2-mercaptobenzothiazoles and thiurams are highly effective. A highly stability can be obtained when a UV absorber is used together with the these compounds. Triarylmethane dyes having a phthalide structure and fluoran dyes are highly effective as basic leuco dye. Where the microcapsules are used for a pressure-sensitive thermal recording sheet, the microcapsules may be those obtained by an ordinary microencapsulating method. Where the microcapsules are used for a thermal recording sheet, it is necessary that micsrocapsule walls be opaque at normal temperature and become transparent when being heated. Among microencapsul ating methods, suitable are an internal polymerization method and an interfacial polymerization method.
