摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material excellent in a raw preservability and an image preservability for which a 4-substituted amino-2-alkoxy benzene diazonium salt is used. SOLUTION: The diazo thermal recording material is provided with a recording layer containing a diazo compound, a coupling component and an organic salt. 50wt% or more of the diazo compound is the 4-sbstituted amino -2-alkoxy benzene diazonium salt. The coupling component is represented by the formula. Total carbon numbers of the compound is 20 or more.In the formula, each of Z 5 , Z 6 , Z 7 and Z 8 represents a hydrogen atom, a substituted or non-substituted alkyl group, an aralkyl group, an aryl group, each of B and D represents a cyano group, an alkoxy carbonyl group, an alkyl sulfonyl group, an aryl sulfonyl group or a carbamoyl group. Especially, the substituent at the third position pref. has a substituent bonded through an oxygen atom. Further, one whose fourth position is substituted with an electron withdrawing group such as a substituted carbonyl group or a cyano group is pref. from such an aspect that synthesis is easy and a raw material is easily obtained.

摘要： PURPOSE:To improve preservability before recording by incorporating specific compound as diazo compound in a heat sensitive recording medium having a heat sensitive recording layer containing diazo compound, coupling content, base and binder on a support. CONSTITUTION:In diazo compound represented by a formula (I), R1, R2, R3 are alkyl group, aralkyl group, aryl group, which may contain substituent group, and may be the same or different. However, it is desirable that the total number of carbons of the R1, R2, R3 is 12 or more, and more desirably 14 or more. As the substituent group of the R1, R2, R3, alkyl group, aryl group, hydroxy group, halogen atom, cyano group, etc., are included. X is acid anion. The diazo compound is desirably used to be contained in a microcapsule so as to prevent precoupling, but it is desirable to have suitable solubility in the solvents. It is desirable to use the diazo compound in a range of 0.01-3g/m in the recording layer, but in view of coloring density, it is used in a range of 0.1-2g/m .

The derivative preferably has a melting point of at least 100 deg.C, and R2 preferably contain a substd. or unsubstd. phenylene or naphthylene group in the chain thereof.

CONSTITUTION:A thermal recording material comprises a base and a thermal recording layer provided thereon, which layer comprises a diazo compound and a coupling component in a dispersed state in a binder. The diazo compound, which is a diazonium salt of general formula [I], forms a color upon a coupling reaction with the coupling component. The diazo compound is extremely highly soluble in a solvent, but is difficultly soluble in water. In addition, the diazo compound shows excellent stability to heat or light. Further, the diazo compound shows rapid response (decomposition) to the light with which it is irradiated.
