    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a diabetes care system in which a data transmission is achieved and which is very comfortable for a user. SOLUTION: The diabetes care system includes a mobile component and a base station. The mobile component is wearable on the body or can be implemented in the body and includes a memory for storing data and a communication unit for transmitting data to the base station. The base station has a communication unit for wireless reception of data from the mobile component and a memory unit for storing transmitted data, and an output unit for displaying data which have been transmitted by the mobile component. The data transmission between the mobile component and the base station occurs within a time interval in which a wireless communication link exists. In the diabetes care system, a selective data transmission is performed, wherein a first partial set of data is transmitted to the base station within the first time interval in which the wireless communication link exists, and the first partial set of data is selected using a processor-controlled selection algorithm in such a manner that the data transmitted in the first time interval is representative of the entirety of the data stored in the mobile component.
