    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a position changeover controller using a motor as a driving source which controller reduces a possibility of erroneously determine the operation position (range) of a position changeover mechanism when fail-safe control is executed. SOLUTION: A motor 12 is under F/B control (Feedback control) in a normal situation, and fail-safe control (open loop control) is executed when a failure occurs. When fail-safe control is executed, a changeover determine limit for a range is extended to be wider than a changeover determine limit under F/B control. During fail-safe control, a rotor rotation angle is merely presumed from a count of drive signals for the motor 12, so that a presumed value may be shifted to an actual rotor rotation angle. For this reason, if the changeover determine limit is narrow during fail-safe control, the range is apt to be determined erroneously. To prevent this, the changeover determine limit for the range is extended to be wider than the changeover determine limit under F/B control.
