摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter capable of transmitting a high torque. SOLUTION: The starter 1 has a shock absorbing device 8 composed of a transmission part 81, a first friction plate 82, a second friction plate 83, and an initially coned disc spring 84. The transmission part 81 is engaged with the inside surface of the second friction plate 83 and the periphery of an internal gear 42. The periphery of the first friction plate 82 is engaged with the end 102a of a center housing, and thereby the plate 82 is made not able to rotate, while the second friction plate 83 is in frictional engagement with the first friction plate 82. A plurality of such friction plates 82 and ones 83 are provided and laminated alternately. The initially coned disc spring 84 energizes the first 82 and second friction plates 83. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter having a bearing structure for improving the degree of freedom in designing a tube 10 by eliminating the inner ring of a ball bearing 11 supporting the tube 10 at its outer peripheral face and producing superior lubricating performance while suppressing the tanglement of foreign matters. SOLUTION: The tube 10 has a clutch inner 3b formed to which the rotating force of a motor is transmitted and a bearing portion 10a provided at the clutch inner 3b on the counter motor side in the axial direction. The tube is rotatably supported on a center case 12 via a ball bearing 11 arranged on the outer periphery of the bearing portion 10a. The ball bearing 11 is constructed integrally with the tube 10 by utilizing the bearing portion 10a of the tube 10 as the inner ring. On the outer peripheral face of the bearing portion 10a, a rolling groove 10b of circular arcuate section is formed all over its periphery, where a plurality of balls 11c are rotatably held. 摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a starter 1 that does not generate large thrust by helical splines 3a and 4b after an advance movement of an output shaft 3 stops. SOLUTION: A female side helical spline 4b is formed inside a clutch inner 4C and a stopper 16 is formed on an end portion on the opposite motor side of the spline 4b. An output shaft 3 is formed slidably to the axial direction in a manner that a male side helical spline 3a formed on a rear end portion of the shaft 3 is meshed with the spline 4b. With the above configuration, when the spline 3a of the output shaft 3 is brought in contact with the stopper 16, relative rotations of the helical splines 3a and 4b are blocked and movement of the output shaft 3 stops, therefore no thrust is applied to the shaft 3 after that and high load is not put on a bearing 20 for supporting the shaft 3, a front housing 19 or the like.
