摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piperidine condensed borate which is useful in various fields, particularly as an epoxy resin curing agent by reacting piperidine with boric acid, that is, hardly has an amine irritating odor, has the property of easily dissolving in water and an organic solvent such as methanol and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO), can increase a boron content compared to the conventional boric acid compound added as a regulator of curing characteristics when used as an epoxy resin curing agent, accordingly gives a cured product having an extremely high glass transition temperature and exhibiting an effect of improving flame retardance.
SOLUTION: The piperidine condensed borate is represented by chemical formula (1). The piperidine condensed borate is particularly useful as an epoxy resin curing agent.

The method for producing the seven-membered ring ketimine borate crystal comprises filtering a precipitate from a reaction solution of acetone with ethylenediamine or its homologue and boric acid and depositing the crystal. The curing agent for epoxy resins comprises the seven-membered ring ketimine borate.
