    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal flow sensor which distinguishes among three states, namely, at suction, at chucking, and at release with accuracy and stability. SOLUTION: In the thermal flow sensor 1, a laminate 50 is mounted on a flow-channel space 44 formed in a body 41 to form a main flow channel M, wherein the laminate 50 incorporates a mesh plate 51 so that a mesh part 51M is placed between the main flow channel M and a sensor flow channel S. An upstream-temperature detection resistor R1, a downstream-temperature detection resistor R2, a heating resistor Rh, and a fluid temperature detection resistor Rt are provided to a measurement chip 11. An electric circuit 70 controls so that the heating resistor Rh and the fluid temperature detecting resistor Rt provide a fixed temperature difference. An output signal, according to a temperature difference between the upstream temperature detection resistor R1 and the downstream temperature detection resistor R2 is set as the final output and for a reverse flow, the output signal is processed by a gain changing circuit 80 which is set to be a final output.     • PURPOSE: To provide a piston position detector which enables detecting of the optimum range and an allowable range and moreover, preventing of malfunctioning even in use under the environment affected by an external magnetic field. CONSTITUTION: Magnetoresistance detecting sections 3A and 3B are arranged at positions with both surfaces of a glass substrate 4 of a magnetoresistance element 3 facing each other in such a manner as to make the magnetosensitive direction thereof equal while the centers of the magnetosensitive pattern parts 5 and 6 thereof coincide. Differential output voltages of the magnetosensitive pattern parts 5 and 6 are compared with different threshold voltages separately to judge the position of a piston from the results of the comparison. A light emitting diode comes ON when the position of the piston is within an allowable range and another light emitting diode comes ON when it is within the optimum allowable range based on the results of the judgment.

Therefore, even if the output of a magnet is changed by the change of a surrounding temperature, an adjust voltage Va not affected by the surrounding temperature is outputted from the temperature compensation circuit 3 and the adjust voltage Va is inputted to the comparative output circuit 3 by combining the amplification of the operative amplifier A1 with the change of the resistance value of the return resistance R13 following to th surrounding temperature change. Consequently, the output signal is obtained from the comparative output circuit 3 as arranged.

Here, the middle point voltage Vs is sometime the same voltage value even of the relative position relation to the magnet is deffered and in this case, as the inconvenience in which an unnecessary output signal not to be outputted originally is outputted is generated, a range set circuit 3 is provided to resolve this. The range set circuit 3 has an analogue switch SW1, which is controlled by a lead switch, connected between terminals T2, T3, for turning ON.OFF only when the magnet stays in a prescribed range.
