    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable the uniform cooling of glass sheets by vertically moving a plurality of upper air jetting means and lower air jetting means for blowing air to the glass sheets transported by a plurality of rollers for curving the transporting surface to a curvilinear shape of the glass sheets by the vertical movement according to the position of rollers and keeping a space between air jetting means at a constant value. SOLUTION: When the glass sheets enter the air cooling and tempering device from a roller conveyor for bending, the cooling air is blown toward the glass sheets from nozzles of upper air blow-off heads 24A and the subsequent heads and lower air blow-off heads 26A and the subsequent heads. The respective rollers 22A and the subsequent rollers of the roller conveyor transport the glass sheet while moving vertically so as to hold the shape of the glass sheet under bending. The upper air blow-off heads 24A and the subsequent heads and the lower air blow-off heads 26A and the subsequent heads move vertically cooperatively with the vertical movement of the rollers 22A and the subsequent rollers so as to maintain the specified distances from the respective nozzles to the glass sheets, thereby imparting uniform cooling ability to the glass sheets.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a glass sheet of double curvilinear shapes by vertically moving a plurality of rollers accompanying the transportation of the glass sheet to form a curve surface curved in the transporting direction on the transporting surface and progressing the curved surface in the transporting direction to bed and form a glass substrate in the transporting direction, then bending the glass substrate in a direction orthogonal with the transporting direction while blowing air from above and below the same. SOLUTION: When the glass sheet G heated to a bending temperature in a heating furnace is transported to this apparatus, the rollers descend and move and the transporting surface is deformed to a downwardly projecting curvilinear shape. The glass sheet G deflects to a lower side along the curved surface by its own weight when passing on the rollers and is deformed to the shape complying with the curved surface. When the bent glass sheet G is transported to a cooling and forming device 18, the glass sheet G is cooled without the balance on the front surface and the rear surface by blowing of the air which is blown from an upper air blow-off outlet 18A and a lower air blow-off outlet 18B and is controlled by a air pressure controlled, by which a difference a temperature difference is generated above and below and the glass sheet is bent in the direction orthogonal with the transporting direction.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To smooth the transportation of a glass sheet and to bend the glass sheet without the occurrence of damage by vertically moving plural rollers for forming a transportation plane according to the transporting position of the glass sheet, thereby bending part of the transportation plane. SOLUTION: When a glass sheet 18 arrives at a roller 20A on the inlet side, the transportation plane formed between all the rollers 20a to 20M is horizontal. When the glass sheet 18 is transported, rollers 20B and 20C descend. As the glass sheet 18 is transported, rollers 20D to 20F move downward and the transportation plane formed between the rollers 20D to 20F is deformed to a gently downwardly crowning curvilinear surface of a large radius of curvature. The glass sheet 18 is deflected downward along the curvilinear surface of the rollers 20D to 20F by its own weight at the time of passing on the rollers 20D to 20F and is deformed to the shape complying with the curvilinear surface. A motion controller controls the respective servo motors of the rollers 20D to 20F in such a manner that the transporting speeds of the horizontal direction components of the glass sheet 18 by the rollers 20D to 20F are equaled to each other.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to bend a glass sheet in a direction orthogonal with a transporting direction along the transporting surface formed by a plurality of rollers for bending the glass sheet by inclining these rollers with respect to a horizontal plane and arranging the rollers in such a manner that the inclination directions of the respective neighbor rollers vary alternately. SOLUTION: The rollers of a roller conveyor are arranged to incline alternately in such a manner that the angles of inclination of the rollers increase gradually from an intermediate section of a transporting route to an outlet section. The glass sheet 18 is transported on the transporting surface of the roller conveyor formed to curve in the direction orthogonal with the transporting direction, by which the glass sheet 18 is bent in the direction orthogonal with the transporting direction. Also, the rollers 20A and 20B move successively from above to below from the upstream side in the transporting as the glass sheet 18 is transported, by which the transporting surface of the roller conveyor is curved along the transporting direction and the glass sheet 18 on the transporting surface is bent in the direction along the transporting direction. The glass sheet 18 is bent to multiple shapes by the combination of both described above.
