    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new optical information recording/reproducing method and device which achieve small-size and large-capacity optical memory having a characteristic equivalent to or higher than a hologram memory. SOLUTION: The optical information recording/reproducing device includes: a recording light generation device 51 generating a recording light 55 in a polarized state having two polarized components orthogonally intersecting each other with a phase difference at an arbitrary polarization base; a reproduction light generation device 61 generating a reproduction light 65 in a polarized state having only one polarized component at an arbitrary polarization base; a recording medium 71 recording optical information owned by the recording light 55 while reproducing the optical information recorded by the reproduction light 65; and an optical information detecting device (polarimeter 81) extracting an information light 72 after being applied to the recording medium 71 and detecting the light as optical information.
